NAO brake pads

In the early 1980s, a variety of asbestos-free brake linings reinforced with mixed fibers appeared internationally, that is, the third generation of asbestos-free organic NAO brake pads. Its purpose is to make up for the defects of steel fiber single reinforced semi-metal brake material, the fibers used are plant fibers, aramid fibers, glass fibers, steel fibers, ceramic fibers, carbon fibers, mineral fibers and so on. Due to the application of multi-fibers, the brake lining fibers complement each other in performance, making it easy to design brake lining formulations with excellent comprehensive performance.

Asbestos-free organic NAO brake materials were developed primarily as an alternative to asbestos for brake drums or brake hooves, but recently they are also beginning to be tried as an alternative to front disc brake pads. In terms of performance, the NAO brake pads are closer to the asbestos pads than the semi-metallic pads. It does not have good thermal conductivity and good high temperature controllability like semi-metal brake pads.

The main advantage of NAO brake pads is to maintain a good braking effect at low or high temperatures, reduce wear, reduce noise, and extend the service life of brake discs, representing the current development direction of friction materials. The friction material used by all world-famous brands such as Pentax/Filodore brake pads is the third generation of NAO asbestos-free organic material. It can brake freely at any temperature, protect the driver's life safety, and maximize the life of the brake disc. The main domestic brake pad manufacturing companies Shandong Jin Qilin, Hengshui North Brake, Hebei Xingyue Brake, etc. are all NAO production. These NANO brake materials are mainly supplied to santana, Changhe, Xiali, Haima and other major automobile brands.
