A total of 2,618 teams from 310 colleges and universities signed up for the competition, with 8,402 participants, and after fierce competition, 200 teams from 91 colleges and universities advanced to the national finals.

This competition is composed of open propositions, local competition questions, and enterprise competition questions, and the participating teams can choose the type of competition questions independently. Open propositions are divided into two categories: technological innovation and application creativity. The technological innovation category emphasizes the combination of software and hardware, and examines the design and display of prototype systems; The application creativity category emphasizes the scenarios in major fields, and examines the feasibility of the technology and the potential value of the application. For the first time, an international group was set up in this competition. The national finals are divided into group defense competitions and open finals, and the shortlisted teams are divided into 6 groups for defense, with a total of 18 teams competing for the championship, second and third place. 90 teams from Harbin Engineering University participated in the competition, of which 11 were shortlisted for the national finals.

Launched in 2019, the China Graduate Artificial Intelligence Innovation Competition aims to build a stage for selecting and displaying outstanding innovative practice works in the field of artificial intelligence, enhance the creative ability, innovative thinking and entrepreneurial spirit of graduate students, and help cultivate high-level innovative talents in the field of artificial intelligence.
