On September 20, the opening ceremony of the 2024 Farmers' Harvest Festival in Xixian New Area was held in Fengdong Agricultural Expo Park.
With the theme of "Learning to Use the 'Ten Million Project' to Praise Harvest China", the event focused on the display of regional characteristic agricultural products, folk harvest intangible cultural heritage achievements, modern agricultural machinery and tools, smart agriculture, etc., and also set up a "bridge" for exchanges and cooperation between agriculture-related enterprises and large planters. More than 200 people, including folk customs experts, agricultural technology experts, large planters, representatives of agriculture-related enterprises, and farmers in the jurisdiction, participated.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Zhi, a folk customs expert and deputy director of the Xi'an Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, explained and interacted with the audience through "solar terms customs", "agricultural tool display" and "agricultural tool guessing riddles", and took the audience to immerse themselves in the fun and charm of agricultural culture; Liu Zhigang, an expert in the evaluation of agricultural informatization and a graduate tutor of Northwest A&F University, shared with everyone the changes brought by scientific and technological empowerment to agriculture.

Zaoping Bamboo Horse, a provincial intangible cultural heritage project, also came to the scene and presented a wonderful performance, allowing the audience to feel the charm of traditional culture up close and reminisce about farming life.

The event site also set up a special agricultural products display area, from the new area of agricultural leading enterprises and towns and streets nearly 30 cooperatives, agriculture-related enterprises, with nearly 100 kinds of special agricultural products. The grapes of Zhouling Street, the chestnut sweet potatoes of Yongle Town, the balsamic vinegar of Dawang Street, the stone buns of Gaoqiao Street, as well as fruits, vegetables, honey, wine, grain and oil and other agricultural and sideline products are dazzling, attracting the attention of the masses. In the traditional agricultural tools and modern agricultural machinery exhibition area, modern agricultural machinery equipment such as fruit tree plant protection unmanned vehicles, Beidou automatic tractors, and unmanned lawn mowers are also eye-catching, providing new machinery and new technology exchange opportunities for agricultural machinery production and operation enterprises, large planting and breeding households, and farmers' cooperatives.
After the opening ceremony, the farmers who participated in the opening ceremony also visited the Southern Botanical Museum, the Colorful Flower Pavilion and the Agricultural Science and Technology Museum of Fengdong Agricultural Expo Park to learn about the latest development trends of modern urban agriculture.
