Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, and many people will choose to buy mooncakes to celebrate the festival. Recently, many people have reported that there are mooncakes "delivered to your door for free", and you can even receive laundry detergent and cash red envelopes?
A few days ago, Ms. Jiang (pseudonym) and Mr. Li (pseudonym) from Chancheng, who live in Nanhai, Foshan, Guangdong, both received a strange courier containing a "Mid-Autumn Festival gift card" printed with the word "merchant's acknowledgement", and the card was accompanied by a scratch area and a QR code.
The words "Triple Gift" in the scratch area made Ms. Jiang and Mr. Li think that they had "won", so they scanned the QR code to "redeem the prize".
After scanning the code, Mr. Li entered a WeChat group, and after showing his collection code and submitting relevant information, he received a 20 yuan red envelope from the group owner.
After receiving the red envelope, the other party quickly released the "Brushing Rebate Task". However, because Mr. Li usually paid attention to the relevant anti-fraud information and suspected that it was "swiping fraud", he immediately became alert and quit the group chat, and called the police for help.
After Ms. Jiang scanned the code, she was guided by the other party to download an unfamiliar application, and was pulled into a group chat by the "customer service staff". In this group, she found that there are still many "lucky people" waiting to receive the "Mid-Autumn Festival gift package".
According to the "exchange method" provided by the group, Ms. Jiang really received two bottles of laundry detergent after filling in the address. However, Ms. Jiang preferred "high-end moon cakes", so she continued to contact "customer service" to inquire about the situation. The "customer service" offered to complete the "swiping task" as prompted, and you could redeem the "high-end moon cakes" and get additional "commissions".
When Ms. Jiang recharged the amount and was about to participate in the "swiping task", the other party said that she had made an operation error, and also posted a message in the group, saying that due to Ms. Jiang's operation error, all members could not complete the "task".
The "lucky ones" in the group quickly exploded, irritating Ms. Jiang by constantly complaining, making her feel guilty. At this time, the "customer service" also said that there was also a "repair plan", which allowed Ms. Jiang to complete the "remediation" by transferring money and buying gold to the designated address.
When Ms. Jiang completed the operation, she never got "high-end moon cakes", "cashback", "commissions", etc. It wasn't until her son came home to understand what had happened, and after being reminded, she suddenly woke up and called the police for help, at this time, Ms. Jiang had been defrauded of more than 130,000 yuan. At present, the case is under investigation.
The trick of a liar
1. Unfamiliar winning couriers, leaflets printed with red envelopes for entering the group, QR codes on small gifts, eye-catching short videos, and easy part-time jobs with high salaries...... All of the above are a front for fraudsters to attract traffic.
2. After drainage, fraudsters usually give the victim a small favor to induce the victim to start "taking tasks" and "swiping orders".
3. Once the victim starts to "recharge" and "swipe orders", the other party will use the excuse of the victim's operation error, problem with funds, exceeding the time limit, etc., to let the victim "remedy" through "transfer" and "buy gold" and other means until the victim realizes that he has been deceived.
Police remind
When receiving an unknown courier, carefully observe the package, if there is a card printed with a QR code in the package, don't scan the code because of greed, what seems to be free may be costly.
There will be no moon cakes in the sky,
Beware of mooncakes becoming traps!
