On the evening of September 13th, the second session of the "Ink Dance to Welcome the National Day" Art Museum Night Series was held at Luohu Art Museum. Zou Jiongwen, consultant of Shenzhen Calligraphers Association and Luohu District Calligraphers Association, was invited to give a lecture entitled "Distinguishing between Elegance and Vulgarity and Keeping Integrity and Bringing Out the New". In the evening, calligraphers from the Luohu District Calligraphers Association were invited to guide the audience to the works of the "Hanmo Song to China" calligraphy exhibition, and to conduct a demonstration of calligraphy classic tablets, attracting many calligraphy enthusiasts to participate in the interactive experience. Yu Yanfeng, vice chairman of Shenzhen Calligraphers Association, chairman of Luohu District Calligraphers Association, and director of Luohu Art Museum, presided over the academic lecture.
In the lecture, Zou Jiongwen analyzed the definition of elegance and vulgarity, its dialectical relationship, the reasons for the formation of elegance and vulgarity from an aesthetic perspective, combined with the cases of classic calligraphy works, and discussed the concepts of integrity and innovation, why innovation and related precautions.
Zou Jiongwen believes that elegant people write elegant characters, and laypeople write vulgar characters, which is the law of calligraphy. "Elegant, Sven also, dignified, gentle and peaceful, strange and correct, change not far away. Why? Those who are good readers, those who copy the scriptures, and those who are devout and reverent. Those who study diligently and think more, practice their hands, train their eyes, and practice their hearts, those who have high eyes and low hands are expected. Reading and cultivating yourself is the first priority. "As for the various states of elegance, there are quaint, leisurely, harmonious, elegant, elegant, elegant, elegant, and so on. In Zou Jiongwen's view, those who worship the ancient and learn the ancient can enter the ancient elegance. Those who are profound and erudite, and those who have no utilitarian and vulgar thoughts, can be leisurely and elegant. Those who cultivate a high temperament can be harmonious and elegant, that is, gentle. The skill is deep, erudite and literate, and those who do not show off their skills can be elegant. Those who have the ability to do so and those who are talented and rich in affection can be elegant.
The opposite of the book of Yashu is the book of the vulgar. Zou Jiongwen said that the so-called vulgar style is indecent, without the air of Swen, and vulgar and vulgar. So, why is it vulgar? He categorized it into three aspects: first, he did not learn the scriptures, he was self-righteous, and he repeated the vulgar; the second is to learn without thinking, practice hands without eyes, and do not practice hearts; The third is those who do not attach importance to culture and are unwilling to read more. "Not attaching importance to cultural accomplishment, not respecting tradition, tasting shallowly, and being self-righteous are the roots of popular books."
How to understand the "uprightness and innovation" of calligraphy? Zou Jiongwen pointed out that righteousness is not limited to fairness, it is the right vein, it is tradition, and it is the way of the source; It is righteousness, it is righteousness; It is elegant and upright, it is above board, and it is dignified. What is integrity? It is to stick to the right path, to guard the right path, and to practice the right path. This is the historical responsibility of calligraphers who have a responsibility to take responsibility.
What is new? Zou Jiongwen said that he wanted to write calligraphy that was different from the ancients and different from others. "Innovation is the eternal theme of art." When it comes to what makes it new? He believes that it is necessary to take uprightness as the foundation, go deep into the tradition, accumulate and think deeply, and achieve it naturally. After passing the test with a pen, then talk about chapter law and ink method, and then pursue the style direction, and gradually become personalized writing. "The style is in the person, in the temperament of the cultivation. Temperament comes from talent, and cultivation perfects it. Western art emphasizes form and appearance. Chinese art emphasizes connotation and charm, not in appearance, not in appearance, but in essence. A little bit of a painting, you can see the person. The so-called 'word for the heart' is also. Write naturally, go with the flow, and don't forget (tradition), you can see your own nature. Habit becomes nature, and it becomes your own style. Write until it does not coincide with the ancients or the present, and write your own words, and you will succeed and create a new one. He emphasized: "Copying and overlapping with the ancients is for the sake of skill." Writing naturally, writing about one's own temperament, is the Tao. ”
At the end of the lecture, Zou Jiongwen shared a few precautions: First, copying the classic Dharma is the only shortcut to learning books. The second is that the skill is insufficient, the ancient is not deep, and the new is not lightly spoken. The third is to change in the new, and to change in the knowledge of the usual. Change and moderate, don't exaggerate. Strange and positive, change is not far away, step by step. Thoughtful and experienced, it is possible to enter the impossible law, and the new reason is abnormal and beautiful. "Whether it is possible to come up with something new, you can try it yourself. Success is judged by society, industry and history. Zou Jiongwen said.
In particular, at the end of the lecture, the audience and Zou Jiongwen exchanged views on topics such as reading posts, popular calligraphy styles, and ancient classic calligraphy theories, and the atmosphere was very lively. After the lecture, many calligraphers demonstrated how to practice the inscription in the exhibition hall, guiding calligraphy lovers to continuously understand and comprehend the historical background, production process, circulation experience, text content, writing style, artistic style, etc. of the classic inscription in the process of appreciation, interpretation and writing, so as to draw wisdom and nutrients from the ancient classics, keep the integrity and innovation, continue the historical context, and write a contemporary chapter.
