According to the data at the meeting, in 2024, Xinxing County plans to invest 1.87 billion yuan in the transportation field, and by the end of August, a total of 1.249 billion yuan of fixed investment has been completed, completing 66.79% of the annual plan. From January to August 2024, the county completed 717,400 passenger trips, a year-on-year increase of 7%, and the passenger turnover was 49.941 million kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 17%; The freight volume was 9.796 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2%; The cargo turnover was 924.113 million ton-kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 9%.
In addition to the dazzling data, the construction of emerging key transportation projects this year is also progressing in an orderly manner. At present, Xinxing has a total of 12 transportation projects under construction, among which, in the construction project of the emerging section of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed railway, which has attracted much attention, it plans to invest 1.329 billion yuan in 2024, and a total of 669 million yuan has been completed from January to August, accounting for 50.34% of the annual plan; A total investment of 5.15 billion yuan has been completed, accounting for 79.19% of the total investment. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on June 20 for the Xinxing South Station of the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway, and site leveling and foundation treatment are underway.
Provincial Highway 276 Xinwu to Pet Cave Section, Provincial Highway 274 Mujiao to Jiaojian Cave Section and other disaster reconstruction projects have started at the end of May; National Highway 359 Baitu to Dongyao section, Provincial Highway 276 Chenshe to Huanggang section and other two pavement maintenance projects, Provincial Highway 276 Lingjiao to Lidongwei section reconstruction project is planned to start soon. In 2024, the task of rural road construction and the rural road project of the typical county (pioneering category) of the "Millions and Thousands of Projects" have all started, and the project to make up for the shortcomings is steadily advancing.
In addition to the above-mentioned projects under construction and in progress, Xinxing also has a number of planning reserve projects, such as the Guangzhou-Zhanjiang high-speed rail Xinxing South Station through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel Expressway, the Xinxing to the Pearl River Delta hub airport expressway, the Xinxing to Foshan-Zhaoyun Expressway Expressway, the Shuitai Airport Economic Zone through the airport fast track and the third ring road and the west extension project, the National Highway 359 Xincheng Industrial Park East Park to the county section of the upgrading project, or has completed the construction drawing design, or is preparing the engineering feasibility study report.

Up to now, Xinxing County has basically built an integrated transportation system of "people enjoy their travel, and things flow smoothly". In terms of road passenger transport, in recent years, Xinxing County has opened the bus lines of the Vocational College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, completed the optimization and adjustment of a number of bus lines, and continuously improved the bus network system in the county. By increasing investment in rural passenger transport capacity, promoting rural passenger transport reservation and customized services, we will effectively open up the "last mile" of mass travel. There are 5 road passenger transport enterprises in the county, with a total of 464 passenger cars, 40 passenger lines, and 100% of the county's 199 villages are open to buses.
In terms of road freight, in recent years, Xinxing has effectively resisted the impact of the economic downturn by strengthening market cultivation and optimizing and adjusting the transportation structure, and is the first county in Yunfu City where the economic indicators of freight have turned from falling to rising. The county's freight turnover will increase by 4.1% year-on-year in 2023 and 9% year-on-year in 2024. There are 29 general freight enterprises, 3 dangerous goods transportation enterprises, 681 self-employed households and 2,974 road freight vehicles in the county.
In terms of express logistics, the county has built 1 county-level comprehensive transportation service station, 2 town-level comprehensive transportation service stations (respectively Paradise Town, Nim Village Town), and 163 village-level logistics service points (mainly relying on rural convenience stores, postal service points, etc.), providing logistics services such as receiving, sorting, storage, stowage, transportation and distribution for the circulation of agricultural products, and promoting the diversified and rapid development of the rural economy. In the first half of 2024, the county's express logistics sent 6,692,400 pieces, a year-on-year increase of 68.26%; 27,601,700 pieces were delivered, a year-on-year increase of 25.27%.
While optimizing and improving the level of transportation services, Xinxing is also actively making efforts in the safety construction of the transportation field. By strengthening traffic supervision and law enforcement, hidden danger monitoring and rectification, etc., to maintain traffic safety, the county's complaints in the field of transportation have decreased significantly since the beginning of this year, and no major mass incidents or petitioning incidents have occurred. It is understood that this year, Xinxing inspected 93 production and business units, dispatched more than 2,170 personnel, inspected 37,742 kilometers of highways, found 106 hidden problems and completed rectification. From January to August 2024, a total of 542 cases of various traffic violations were investigated and dealt with, an increase of 14% year-on-year, of which 400 cases were investigated and dealt with jointly with the public security traffic police department, an increase of 40.35% year-on-year; There were 55 off-site cases, an increase of 366.67% year-on-year; Jointly investigated and dealt with 2 cases of "stalking" and "watching the wind" in order to evade law enforcement, and detained 2 people; 10 cases of illegal operation; 18 cases of highway dust remediation and road pollution violations; 31 cases of motor vehicle maintenance and driving training; 1 case of production safety violation; There were 27 other cases.
