September is the peak period for electric bicycle pick-up and drop-off at the beginning of the new semester, and it is also the golden season for cycling in summer and autumn. Pay attention to road traffic safety, and be wary of "death crescent" and "open door killing".
"Death Crescent": When a large vehicle is turning, due to the long body of the vehicle, there is a difference in the trajectory of the front and rear wheels, which will form an inner wheel difference area, which is vividly called the "Death Crescent".
How to avoid the dangers of a "death crescent".
Pedestrians and riding non-motorized vehicles (electric bicycles) should do the following:
When passing on the road, try to keep a sufficient safety distance from large trucks, and do not put yourself in the "inner wheel difference" area of large trucks to prevent collisions.
Especially at intersections, pay special attention to large trucks turning right, stay away from large vehicles that are turning, and keep a sufficient safety distance, at least 2 meters.
Do not walk or ride on the side of a large vehicle on the turn, let alone compete with a large vehicle.
When crossing the street, carefully observe the traffic around you to make sure that no large vehicles turn before passing.
When traveling on an e-bike, be sure to choose a qualified safety helmet and wear it correctly.
Drivers of small vehicles should:
Keep a safe distance from large vehicles and avoid parallel or too close to vehicles for long periods of time.
When a large vehicle is turning, don't try to overtake or rush, and wait patiently for it to complete the turn.
Understand the driving characteristics and blind spots of large vehicles to improve their safety awareness.
Drivers of large vehicles should:
One stop, two looks, three starts, four slow.
Before turning, you should slow down and stop in time and observe the surrounding situation. Be sure to drive slowly and slowly, do not rush, keep a low speed, observe the situation around the body, and make sure that there are no dangerous factors around the body before moving forward. When turning, make as many turns as possible and keep a safe distance from the sidewalk.
"Door opening": refers to an accident in which the driver or passenger of the car does not carefully observe whether there is an oncoming car behind him when opening the door, and rashly opens the door, resulting in a collision between the door and the vehicle or pedestrian driving behind.
How to avoid the danger of "opening the door to kill".
When you get off the bus and open the door, use the remote hand to open the door, when you get off the bus from the right, use the left hand to open the door, and when you get off the bus from the left, use the right hand to open the door. When we open the door with the remote hand, we will automatically turn our head to look behind us, and the door will not open completely, which will also remind the surrounding traffic participants in the process.
As a cyclist, you should also stay focused during the ride and make sure that you have a safe distance from stationary vehicles on both sides of the road. At the same time, you should wear a cycling helmet correctly and maintain a safe and controllable riding speed.
