One afternoon last year, Liu Shuqin accidentally turned out the first promotional video of Happy Home Integration Kindergarten.
In the promotional video, more than ten years ago, I said to the camera: "What should I do when this child (autism) grows up?" ”
When she heard it again, she felt her heartstrings tug. It seemed to be an unintentional emotion back then, but it turned out to be deeply rooted in her heart.
She didn't realize that for 20 years, she had been searching for an answer to "what to do" - what should autistic children do after graduating from integrated kindergartens? What happens after the compulsory education period? What should I do when I grow up?
Crafts in the integrated kindergarten
When I met Liu Shuqin in Qingdao Happy Home Integration Kindergarten in Shandong, she had just rushed over from the Ocean Scenery Kindergarten in Laoshan District, Qingdao City, her face was dripping with sweat, and she didn't care about wiping it, so she rushed into the office to deal with the work of the kindergarten.
Now she wears many hats, from the Happy Home Integrated Kindergarten, to the Ocean Scenery Kindergarten, to the Happy Home School-age Support Center, and the Yiqi Assisted Employment Demonstration and Creative Center, she is needed everywhere.
It's not uncommon to go home at 12 o'clock in the evening.
However, Liu Shuqin enjoys this busyness.
"At the beginning, I was just busy with autistic children in kindergarten, but later I was busy with children who went to school, and now I can be busy with children who have graduated.
Liu Shuqin's eyes flashed, as gentle as a kindergarten child.
In kindergarten, Liu Shuqin often puts a smile on her face
Exploring the implementation of full-life services for children with autism was unimaginable to her 20 years ago.
In 2004, 25-year-old Liu Shuqin met Miao Miao (pseudonym), the first autistic child in her working life. At that time, she was still an ordinary kindergarten teacher and knew nothing about autism.
Facing the child in front of her who can't speak, can't look at people, often cries and makes trouble, and always pees her pants, Liu Shuqin only thinks that she is "difficult to bring", "I didn't think too much about it at the time, I just thought that since the child is difficult to take care of herself, then spend more energy to take care of her, take her by your side and teach her little by little, and she will always learn slowly." ”
In this way, Liu Shuqin took Miao Miao and slowly taught her to drink water, line up, and eat.
Seeing the child's progress, Miao Miao's parents found Liu Shuqin and admitted that Miao Miao had autism and hoped that she could use the vacation time to help take care of the child.
It was when Liu Shuqin took Miao Miao to a professional institution for intervention training that she realized for the first time that there were so many autistic children.
Parents of other autistic children have also discovered that Liu Shuqin is different, she is always so patient and always seems to have infinite energy. Soon, more and more parents with autism approached her, hoping that she could help with their children.
Liu Shuqin teaches children to wear shoes
In 2005, Liu Shuqin decided to resign from kindergarten and teach autistic children full-time.
Initially, the effect was not significant. Lacking the teaching atmosphere of ordinary kindergartens, no matter how Liu Shuqin drives in the classroom, the 12 autistic children "can't socialize" with each other.
"Teaching this group of children requires a very strong heart and patience, like taking a snail for a walk."
The turnaround was soon caught by the attentive Liu Shuqin. One day at noon, Liu Shuqin cooked a meal and called Miao Miao, who was playing, to put on her shoes and go to eat. But no matter how she persuaded her, Miao Miao just cried and refused to wear shoes.
At that time, Nana (pseudonym), a child of relatives and friends who was playing at her house, was also wearing shoes, Liu Shuqin held the mentality of giving it a try and asked her to wear it with Miao Miao, and the magic was that Miao Miao not only sat down quietly, but also imitated her little friend to learn to tie her shoes.
This incident gave Liu Shuqin a lot of inspiration, and she was more determined in her thoughts.
She wants to try to explore a new education model, arranging ordinary children and children with special needs in the same environment, so that ordinary children can lead and help special children, so that they can peer with classmates, influence each other, help each other, and grow together.
In 2007, Liu Shuqin founded the Happy Home Integration Kindergarten. At the beginning of the kindergarten, ordinary children were enrolled free of charge, so that special children and ordinary children could be integrated together, and finally the integration ratio of Pute 1:1 was reached.
Liu Shuqin cheered and encouraged the children
Time has proven that for both ordinary children and autistic children, integrated education has made significant progress.
Ordinary children can be more loving, responsible, and tolerant, and at the same time, they also give special children the power of a role model and positive behavioral support, so that special children can be better developed socially in a common educational environment, and emotional management, awareness of rules, self-care ability and social skills have been greatly improved.
Is 1:1 the best ratio? Since 1+1 can produce an effect greater than 2, will the power generated by 10+1 be more powerful? In 2020, with the support of domestic education experts, Liu Shuqin began to explore 10:1 integrated education.
Qingdao Laoshan District Ocean Scenery Kindergarten was built at that time. In this kindergarten, 1 out of 10 or 15 ordinary children will have a child with special needs.
Children in the kindergarten are holding small hands
In Liu Shuqin's mobile phone album, there are countless moments that move her.
One of the photos shows a little girl holding a little boy's hand up the stairs together.
"At that time, it was time for class, and the special child had to run downstairs to play, and the little girl happened to see it, so she hurried over to grab him, and then took him by the hand and went back to the classroom together. The little boy was also very obedient and returned with the little girl. ”
Seeing this scene, Liu Shuqin was moved, "Aren't these bits and pieces of daily life that happen between children the power of integration?" ”
What should I do if my child is developing well in an integrated kindergarten and enters primary school? Without personalized support, will he be able to adapt?
Over the years, Liu Shuqin has heard countless similar voices from parents of autistic children: "What should I do after kindergarten? ”
Liu Shuqin also fell into such anxiety, she even thought of "going to run a school with integrated education", but found that "I don't have the ability".
Over the years, she has been running to primary schools in various districts of Qingdao when she has nothing to do, "helping our special children who graduate from kindergarten and enter ordinary primary schools, and go to the principals and teachers for direct communication." ”
Gradually, she found that with the country's vigorous advocacy of integrated education, most schools attach great importance to integrated education, and some schools have even created a school culture system led by the "Na" culture to provide special personalized support teaching for special children.
Of course, there is still a problem that cannot be ignored - the teachers of relevant majors in schools are uneven, and not all schools can give special children individualized support in addition to common education.
The teachers of the Happy Home Convergence Kindergarten took the children to the activities
With her efforts, in May 2022, the Happy Home School Support Center located on Huayang Road, Shibei District, Qingdao City came into being.
There are more than 50 special children in the compulsory education stage, and the Happy Home is equipped with accompanying resource teachers or rehabilitation interventions to escort them to study in ordinary primary schools. The cost of rehabilitation training is fully covered by the government, and parents do not need to pay for it.
Liu Shuqin often receives positive feedback from parents, and that high concentration of joy can always instantly overflow the screen and reach her heart.
Parents sent a lot of texts, videos, and photos, "Teacher Liu, look, how happy the child is in primary school." Although his studies are relatively bad, he has made a lot of progress, you see that everyone likes him so much, treats him as a younger brother, and is helping him! You can see that his eyes are much better, and the power of fusion is really powerful! ”
Even though there was no profit or even debt, she and the teachers of the integrated kindergarten did not give up and gritted their teeth and persevered.
"I'm often asked, what happens after kindergarten with integrated education? What happens after the compulsory education period? I think there is always a solution, there is always an answer that satisfies us. ”
Liu Shuqin in the Happy Home Integration Kindergarten
Last June, Liu Shuqin was invited to attend the graduation ceremony of the Laoshan District Special Education School. On that day, she met many parents of special children who graduated from Happy Home Integrated Kindergarten.
On the one hand, they were glad that their children had received integrated education, and on the other hand, they also expressed their worries about their children's graduation, "Can their children find suitable jobs?" Can you start an employment agency that is suitable for these children, so that the children will still follow you? ”
The expectant eyes of the parents activated another spark in Liu Shuqin's heart.
With the care, support and help of government departments at all levels and parents in Qingdao, five months later, she established the Yiqi Supported Employment Demonstration and Creative Center in Laoshan District, Qingdao City. On the day of the launch, 10 young people with mental disabilities went to "report".
Liu Shuqin gave these children a nice name - "Heart Youth": "Although these children have mental disabilities, they are also young people who live with their hearts through their own labor, and they are also young people in our new era, and I hope they can live a quality and happy life." ”
Although these "young people at heart" have graduated from vocational high school, they are mentally like six or seven-year-old children.
"Young people of heart" do cross-stitch
At first, their parents sent them "to work" every day, and they wouldn't even wipe a table. Liu Shuqin set a goal for herself, "I want to take these children to learn to live and teach them to become social people who understand life, know how to live, and live happily." ”
She spends a lot of time at Yiqi every day, working with other colleagues to develop their hands-on skills little by little.
They grow vegetables on small farms, make handmade soap and moxa pillows in handicraft workshops, learn how to make coffee in cafes, and learn how to make bread in bakeries......
The "young people of heart" are working hard
Today, the number of "young people at heart" has also increased to 24.
Although 20-year-old Kobayashi can't say "good teacher" yet, he will take the initiative to go to the small kitchen every day to help choose vegetables, and can wash the rape root by root, and then put the miscellaneous leaves and roots into a garbage bag.
There are also children who are already able to commute to work by bus, which parents "couldn't have imagined before".
Liu Shuqin's exploration of the whole career service for children with autism is like a spark, which has burned more and more vigorously after nearly 20 years.
"Every child is like a seed, worthy of being watered with love and waiting with our hearts. As long as it is given the soil of love, this seed can withstand the wind and rain and thrive. "This soil of love is becoming more and more fertile.
What makes Liu Shuqin most proud is that Nana, a little girl who inspired her to explore integrated education 20 years ago, has now become a preschool teacher at Ocean Scenery Kindergarten after graduating from a special education major this year.
And Miao Miao, whom Nana has helped, has now become a "young man of heart" who has achieved supported employment.
The most coincidental thing is that Nana and Miao Miao reported on the same day. Liu Shuqin specially arranged for them to meet and took a group photo of them. She was so excited that her hands trembled when she took pictures that day, "Who would have thought that 20 years later, there would be such a day?" ”
Liu Shuqin and the "Heart Youth" went to practice outdoors
Now, she has quietly sown another seed in her heart.
"What do these autistic children do when they get old? Since we can help them achieve excellent education at an early age, we will definitely be able to help them realize the care of the elderly and truly realize the care of the whole life cycle. ”
Liu Shuqin hopes that one day, she can run a nursing home for autistic children. There, they can retire with their parents and enjoy their old age.
Ali Public Welfare Daily Positive Energy cooperated with the public new media platform to present Liu Shuqin with a special positive energy award and a bonus of 10,000 yuan:
After learning of the award, Liu Shuqin was very excited and smiled: "Thank you so much, you can buy books for the children!" And the 'young man of the heart' Xiaoxiao (pseudonym) has always wanted a guzheng, which can help her fulfill her wish! ”
They were originally children from the stars, one man and one world, shining alone.
With 20 years of dedication, she quietly integrated into the rotation trajectory of these lonely planets.
Children from different groups integrate, understand and accept each other, and become a common collective that moves towards a positive direction together.
From borrowing money to supporting employment, behind the two-way development is the guidance of love and the energy of kindness.
"Melt" in love, "melt" in action. She regards each child as a unique seed, watered with love and guarded with heart.
May her story arouse the attention of the society, so that every "snail baby" can find their own life vane.
