Beware of card scams
Mom's bank account was transferred multiple times
At the end of June this year, 15-year-old junior high school student Ran Ran (pseudonym) saw a message on the short video platform: After the college entrance examination, everyone who leaves a message will get 3 Pony cards for free.

Ran Ran immediately sent a private message to the other party saying that he wanted to get a promo. 3 hours later, waiting for the other party to reply, the other party sent a QR code picture. After Ran Ran scanned the code, it was displayed that it was a corporate WeChat account, and the other party asked Ran Ran's personal information and address, saying that he would pay 30 yuan for postage to send the card, and sent a collection code.
Subsequently, the other party also claimed that because the system detected that Ran Ran was a minor, his company account was frozen, and he had to unfreeze it through another enterprise WeChat account. Ran Ran did so, and after adding friends again, the other party emphasized that the parent's mobile phone must be used to operate the "unfreeze".
At 9:30 that night, Ran Ran lied that he wanted to check the study materials and asked his mother for a mobile phone. After getting the phone, she followed the instructions of the other party step by step, and the other party asked Ran Ran to delete the chat history and blocked Ran Ran. At this time, Ran Ran's mother found that there had been multiple unknown transfers between her two bank accounts.
The local police station received an anti-fraud warning, and the police hurriedly came to the door and took measures to dissuade and stop the payment of funds, and implemented a protective freeze of 1.02 million yuan in Ran Ran's mother's account. Because Ran inadvertently revealed her mother's bank account number and verification code, in just two hours, the account was transferred 50 times by scammers with an amount of 143,000 yuan.
Trojan virus disguised as a "game exchange mall"
On July 24, the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau reported that the Liwan police recently smashed a fraud gang targeting minors and criminally detained six suspects in accordance with the law.
Case review
On this day, Xiao Wu, a 9-year-old girl living in Huizhou City, received a greeting from a character at a social event in the virtual world. In the chat, Xiao Wu received a picture with the text "The fifth anniversary of the game, join the group to give good gifts".
On the chat software, after Xiao Wu entered the group chat, a "gift sister" sent a picture. The various "gifts" on the picture made Xiao Wu moved. "Gifts are distributed through QR codes, and you can identify them by pressing and holding them." "Sister Gift" informs Xiao Wu of how to receive game benefits.
Xiao Wu downloaded a software called "A Game Exchange Mall" through the identification QR code, entered all kinds of information required by the benefit page step by step, and clicked confirm. Unexpectedly, the page jumped to the game reminder - "Receive the information filled in incorrectly, the parent account will be frozen, if you need to cancel, please explain the situation to the staff as soon as possible, 60,000 yuan will be deducted if it is not lifted within half an hour, and if the deduction fails, you will contact the local public security department to forcibly detain your parents, and cooperate with the staff to work to lift." ”
The reminder is also accompanied by a picture of the system with a police badge and "China Public Security Bureau", and the scrolling reminder of "self-service refund system", "contact police" and a column of "refund successful" is particularly eye-catching.
Xiao Wu took a screenshot and asked "Sister Gift", but did not get an effective answer, she continued to ask when the gift package would be distributed. "The Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Department has just sent an announcement saying that your account has been frozen. Sister, do you need to cancel it here, or will the background submit it directly to you? "Sister Gift" immediately called and instructed her to lift the account freeze.
After 2 days, Xiao Wu still didn't wait for the "gift package", but Wu's father found that he was missing 4999 yuan in his account. Under questioning, Xiao Wu told the story of receiving the gift bag. Wu's father was shocked that his daughter had been deceived, so he rushed to the public security organ to report the case, and the local police quickly began to investigate.
After research and analysis by the Liwan police, it was found that the gang used remote control software to generate a Trojan virus software installation package, which was disguised as "a game exchange mall" software, and the fraudsters guided the victim to install the virus software through words, and then guided the victim to operate the mobile phone, allowed the relevant permissions of the virus software, and then remotely controlled the victim's mobile phone, secretly stealing the victim's money, thus forming a complete criminal chain of "software operation and maintenance, drainage fraud, and amount realization".
On July 11, the Liwan police launched a network collection operation, arrested 7 suspects including Chen and Zhang in one fell swoop, destroyed 2 criminal dens, seized 13 mobile phones, and seized a batch of Trojan horse programs used to commit crimes. It was preliminarily ascertained that the amount involved in the case exceeded 100,000 yuan, and more than 20 victims suffered losses. After investigation and evidence collection, the Liwan police criminally detained 6 people in accordance with the law. At present, the case is still being further handled.
After investigation, the fraud targets in this case are mainly concentrated in the group of minors.
