Recently, China's ecology and environment and other departments jointly issued the "Implementation Plan on the Establishment of a Carbon Footprint Management System", which clearly releases the carbon footprint accounting rules and standards for key products, and promotes the formulation of international standards for product carbon footprint, aiming to accelerate the establishment of a carbon footprint management system, form a green and low-carbon supply chain and production lifestyle, promote the development of new quality productivity, and help achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality.
As early as 2022, inspired by the G20 Summit, Giti Tire officially cooperated with the E-liability Institute to pilot the concept of E-liability, scientifically quantify the carbon emissions of the whole life cycle of tires through its carbon emission accounting method, and at the same time use technical means to reduce carbon emissions.

Explore the way of green management
率先试行E-liability
Developed in collaboration with professors Robert Kaplan of Harvard University and Karthik Ramanna of Oxford University, E-liability is a carbon accounting method that generates real-time, accurate, and auditable data on organizations' total direct carbon emissions and suppliers' carbon emissions (i.e., "cradle-to-gate") and the associated carbon emissions of any of their products and services (e.g., a smartphone, a ton of cement).
As a company with a high sense of social responsibility, Giti Tire has always practiced the sustainable development concept of "green production, lean manufacturing", constantly explored the way of green management, and pioneered the E-liability method to obtain reliable data on the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission level of raw materials and the emission footprint across the supply chain vertical.
In recent years, Giti Tire has been working closely with the founders of the E-liability concept to continuously improve energy efficiency by breaking down the complex tire manufacturing process, grasping the average carbon emissions of each tire, and actively exploring and trying more carbon reduction innovations and technologies.
At the same time, E-liability information is updated with various raw material suppliers, and multiple rounds of on-site and online training/mentoring sessions are conducted to ensure that suppliers are familiar with the methodology and practices of the E-liability program to share greenhouse gas emissions data, which is critical to understanding and reducing the environmental impact of tire production.
By continuously advancing the E-liability program, we will further reduce and optimize the carbon footprint, create new opportunities for collaborative production of clean products across manufacturing verticals, and lead the automotive industry towards a green value chain.

Implement the "dual carbon" action
Promote the journey of environmental protection
In the context of achieving the "double carbon" goal, the tire industry has also reached a consensus and taken action. In recent years, Giti Tire has been accelerating the establishment of a carbon footprint management system, organizing carbon verification and carbon footprint accounting for some tire products for factories every year, inviting internationally renowned carbon service consulting experts to provide guidance, and building the carbon calculation capabilities of factory organization and products in accordance with relevant international standards.
In 2024, Giti Tire will introduce a digital carbon management system to comprehensively, professionally and efficiently manage digital carbon emissions at the production end with a one-stop carbon management platform, and can track the carbon footprint of each tire product.
Giti Tire actively undertakes corporate social responsibility, strategically deploys green factories in China and around the world, and uses a unified GES manufacturing excellence management system to combine quality management, EHS environmental health and safety management, and cost management to effectively improve the quality and stability of tires, reduce the impact of tires on the environment throughout their life cycle, and ensure that products meet sustainable green standards from production to use to recycling.
At the same time, we will increase scientific research efforts to develop more environmentally friendly and energy-saving tire products, innovate technology to reduce rolling resistance, improve fuel efficiency, and deepen the field of new energy vehicles to help enhance the value of the industry; Use renewable energy such as solar energy and wind energy, improve energy utilization in the production process to reduce carbon emissions, actively respond to environmental challenges, make travel more low-carbon, implement the "double carbon" action, and promote the achievement of the "double carbon" strategic goal.
Giti Driving Control P10 product
With more than 70 years of industry experience, Giti Tire firmly grasps the new opportunities for green transformation and development under the "dual carbon" goal, implements the new development concept, builds a new development pattern, unswervingly takes the road of high-quality development, echoes the theme of the times, and leads the green future with actions.
