At 07:10 on July 30, 2024, a worker in a hotel in Huangpi District, Wuhan City, was trapped in mid-air while carrying out aerial work and was in critical condition. After receiving the alarm, the Wuhan Fire and Rescue Command Center quickly dispatched 1 fire truck and 6 firefighters from the Hankou North Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a worker trapped in the glass façade on the fifth floor of the hotel. Due to the high temperature that day, worried that the workers would have symptoms of heat stroke if they were trapped for a long time, the commander immediately formulated a rescue plan according to the situation at the scene, and decided to use the method of lowering the life-saving soft ladder and safety rope traction to rescue.
Subsequently, one firefighter used a rope to make an anchor point at the scene, and the other two firefighters immediately lowered the life-saving soft ladder on the left side of the trapped worker and threw the safety belt to the trapped worker with the safety rope traction. After examination, the rescued worker was in good physical condition.
