Indian A-list actress Tabu

Tabu, whose real name is Tabasan Hashimi, grew up in Hyderabad, India, and later went to Mumbai to attend university; she grew up as a child star and gradually became the most talented A-list actress in Indian cinema today. Bollywood's red star Faranaz from the 1980s to the early 1990s was her sister.

Tabu is one of the finest and versatile actors in Indian cinema. Her work is more than seventy and her acting skills are widely acclaimed, and in 2011 she won the Padma Shri Award, making a huge contribution to Indian cinema. Tabu is currently the record holder for the Filmfare Film Critics Award for Best Actress, winning a total of six awards.

Tabu's most famous work was 1997's Maachis, which was also her national film award-winning work. The following year she won the Filmfare Film Critics Award for Virasat.

In 2001, Tabu performed chandni Bar by independent filmmaker Madhabandak, a poor girl who had to become a nightclub dancer in order to make a living in the Metropolis, and her superb performance once again made her back seat at the National Film Awards.
