In the many rivers of the mainland, there are various kinds of fish, and as anglers, these fish can often be caught, but what you may not know is that these fish, which are often mistaken for native species, are actually foreign invaders.
Wicker fish
The wicker fish, formerly known as the mosquito-eating fish, was introduced to the mainland in 1927 to control mosquitoes and malaria, and can eat thousands of mosquitoes a day. Nowadays, the willow fish has been widely distributed in all kinds of waters south of the Yangtze River in the mainland, and the existence of willow fish has also been found in the waters of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Although mosquito-eating fish have some effect in controlling mosquito larvae, they have strong reproductive ability and wide adaptation, which has caused ecological invasion problems in some areas. Because mosquito-eating fish are small in size and have small mouths, they often rush to the upper layer of the water in groups to grab food, which is also one of the troubles of anglers.
Spotted catfish
Anglers who often go wild fishing know that the spotted catfish is classified as a "trash fish", of course, because of its abundance and ease of fishing. For anglers, as long as they don't catch together for half a day, they are all "miscellaneous fish". Introduced from United States in 1985, the spotted catfish is a freshwater fish with important economic value, which likes to hide near obstacles such as rocks, stone crevices, and bridge piers in natural waters, where the current is stable and the water bottom is chaotic.
Zander
"Warriors" in fresh water, delicacies on the table. According to the data, the body length of adult zander is usually between 40 and 80 centimeters, and the maximum recorded length of zander can reach about 1.2 meters, while the heaviest can reach more than 15 kilograms. The body of the zander is fusiform, fat and powerful, with a pale yellow body and a yellowish-white or pale gray belly. The most special thing is that the sides of its body are covered with light black markings, as if wearing a camouflage uniform, also known as "ten blacks".
