In order to alleviate the pressure of parents' homework supervision during the summer vacation and create a good community learning atmosphere, the Shatin Community Party and Mass Service Center gave full play to the function of volunteer service practice and education, and carried out the summer homework public welfare tutoring class activity of "Learning Together · Grow Together", and provided homework tutoring for young people in the jurisdiction by recruiting college student volunteers. During the tutoring process, the volunteers patiently answered the children's questions, ensured that the children fully understood the questions, mastered the knowledge points, and guided the children to make reasonable study plans to help the children establish good study habits. Many parents happily said that their children's self-control when writing homework at home is not strong, and under the guidance of volunteers, their children's homework can be completed efficiently, and at the same time, they can make friends with other partners in the tutoring class, which greatly enriches their summer vacation life, and they hope that this activity can continue.
In order to improve the physical fitness of young people, the Sha Tin Community Party and Mass Service Center and the Sha Tin Community New Era Civilization Practice Station organized a children's martial arts interest class, where 20 young people practiced boxing together and appreciated the charm of Chinese martial arts. During the activity, Mr. Hu, the martial arts coach, introduced the knowledge of juvenile chain boxing to the children, and under the guidance of the teacher, the children carefully learned the basic techniques and steps of martial arts. In the classroom, Mr. Hu carefully explained the course and carefully taught the movements, and the children's enthusiasm for learning was always high, shouting every action, and the sonorous and powerful "hey" and "ha" sounds echoed in the sky above the training room. Parents are very supportive of this kind of martial arts public welfare training, and the children also like it from the bottom of their hearts, and they have said that although practicing martial arts is hard, it is very meaningful, which can strengthen the body and enhance their perseverance.
In addition, the community also organized 32 pairs of parent-child families in the jurisdiction to participate in the "I am a little dentist" career experience activity, under the leadership of the medical staff of the Maizi Dental Clinic, the children went to each clinic for career experience, understand the function of the oral clinic, the name and use of oral appliances, improve the awareness of oral health care, and cultivate good hygiene habits.
In the future, in addition to opening various public welfare interest classes, the Sha Tin community will also carry out a series of activities such as learning about children's safety knowledge and improving parent-child relationship, so that children can spend a fulfilling and enjoyable summer vacation.
