Poetic China丨 Black Sheath Rain and Fog Flying Clouds Han Envoy Banner Around Cuiwei

"The rain and fog of the black sheath are flying in chaos, and the Han envoy is surrounded by the banner of Cuiwei", this poem describes the Wusheling Ridge, which is known as the "gateway of Hexi". Wusheling is located in Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is the starting point of the eastern end of the Hexi Corridor, the highest peak is more than 3,500 meters above sea level, and the terrain is dangerous.

Located at the junction of the first and second echelons of continental topography, Wusheling is the watershed of the inland and outflow rivers, and is also the dividing line between the monsoon and non-monsoon regions, the arid and semi-arid regions. Since ancient times, it has been the main road of transportation between the East and the West and the place where the soldiers must fight, Zhang Qian and Xuanzang went west through here, the young general Huo Qubing attacked the Huns from here, the Great Wall of Han and Ming Dynasty met here, and countless thrilling stories were staged here.

The Lanwu section of the Lanzhang high-speed railway has just been opened to traffic, and the train with a speed of up to 250 kilometers per hour passes through the new Wusheling tunnel, so that the remote place is no longer far away.
