Stanford University's longevity medicine research team developed the proteomic organ "clock", a groundbreaking study that attracted widespread attention from the medical and health community after a paper was published in the prestigious international journal Nature. Recently, two additional studies have further validated and expanded this area of research – active health and healthy longevity, which requires finding an individual's ageing organs, based on data from the United Kingdom Biobank.
The first study evaluated 11 organs in nearly 6,000 people and found that about one in five had at least one organ "extreme aging," with accelerated aging of the heart and brain associated with heart failure and Alzheimer's disease, respectively.
The second study, done by a Harvard research team, used the health big data of about 53,000 participants in the United Kingdom Biobank to identify seven organ-specific aging clocks and studied the effects of unhealthy lifestyle habits such as smoking and drinking alcohol on the aging of individual organs.
The third study expands on previous findings that hormone replacement therapy may be beneficial in slowing organ-specific aging, but that it responds differently to individuals.
Taken together, these findings suggest that by monitoring plasma proteins, accurate AI-ML models can be developed to predict and track the aging process of individual organs, help identify high-risk populations and make early and proactive health interventions, so as to modify diseases and delay progression, and achieve healthy and long lives.
When you get sick, the disease is only a symptom or a symptom, however, it is likely to accelerate the aging process of the relevant organs. How to cure diseases and stop organ aging?
