As of the end of June 2024, about $21 million of e-offers have been cancelled, driving a total of about $110 million in spending at merchants in North District.
The 20-week "North District Weekend Spending Rewards" campaign is ongoing, and consumers who pay $50 or more in a single transaction at participating merchants via the e-wallet of the organiser on Saturdays and Sundays will be automatically entered into the grand lucky draw to be held in mid-August after the end of the event.
The Grand Lucky Draw will be awarded a total of $500,000 worth of cash prizes, smartphones, digital products, home appliances and air tickets, which will be given away with the support of the Macao Chamber of Commerce and its sponsors. For details, please visit the event webpage (www.macaospendingrewards.com).
Participating merchants of the "Weekend North District Consumption Awards" are located in different industries in the North District, including catering, retail, lifestyle services, etc. The number of participating merchants has continued to grow, from over 400 to over 1,240 today. Tenants responded positively to the event, recognising that it would help attract foot traffic, drive consumption, and invigorate the overall consumption sentiment of the North District economy.
The Macao SAR Government, the Macao Chamber of Commerce and the North District Federation of Industry and Commerce of Macao jointly organised the "Weekend North District Consumption Reward" campaign from 18 March to 4 August. From Monday to Friday during the campaign period, all users who use the organizer's e-wallet and pass real-name authentication can draw 3 e-discounts when spending at online and offline merchants in Macao, with a single payment of $50 or more through mobile payment. The e-offers can be used at participating offline merchants in the North District on the following Saturday and Sunday.
The HKSAR Government will continue to work with local industrial and commercial associations to adopt multi-faceted measures and combine the resources of various districts to organise and support various consumption promotion activities to attract visitors to the district, with a view to improving the business environment, strengthening the confidence of various industries in sustainable operation, and jointly promoting the economic development of the community.
