Launched in 2016, the Audemars Piguet Double Balance Skeleton features a dual-balance escapement that not only improves timekeeping accuracy, but also adds pleasure to watching, and is highly sought after by collectors. Today, the brand is available in 37 mm and is available in 18-carat white gold (Ref. 15467BC.OO.1256BC.01) and 18-carat rose gold (Ref. 15467OR.OO.1256OR.02).
The new watch has a diameter of 37 mm and a thickness of 10 mm. Crafted in 18-carat white or 18-carat rose gold, the case is vertically brushed and mirror-polished, with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a screw-down crown and a see-through case back, and is water-resistant to 50 meters. The octagonal bezel, fastened with eight screws, is combined with an integrated bracelet that embodies the signature features of the Royal Oak collection.
The 18-carat white gold version is paired with a rhodium-plated movement, while the 18-carat rose gold version is paired with a rose gold-toned movement, creating a harmonious monochromatic look, while the light blue and purple inner bezel add a touch of color and subtle contrasts. Audemars Piguet uses a skeleton process to remove as much material as possible from the motherboard and bridges, allowing light to pass through the movement.
The hands in 18-carat rose gold or 18-carat white gold and appliquéd indexes are inlaid with luminescent materials to ensure legibility in low-light conditions. The new models are powered by calibre 3132, an automatic calibre assembled from 245 parts, containing 38 jewels, at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and offering a power reserve of 45 hours.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Skeleton 37mm comes with an integrated 18K white gold or 18K rose gold bracelet with AP folding clasp, an additional pearlescent light blue "Square Big Check" alligator leather strap for the 18K white gold model, and an additional purple "Square Big Check" alligator leather strap for the 18K rose gold model, both priced at 752,000 yuan on the official website.
