The movie "Shoudao Man" was mainly filmed in Pingtan, Fujian Province. Director Chen Li said in an interview with reporters that many of his films have been filmed in Fujian and achieved very good results, "Fujian is my blessed land"; although everyone often shoots this film in the wind and rain on the island, in fact, they have always enjoyed the shooting process, because "everything there is beautiful".
Chen Li said that the film was made to make people believe that perseverance can create miracles, and the ordinary can create extraordinary. The story of "The Island Keeper" spans 32 years, from 1986 to 2018, and the characteristics and changes of the times in different eras are all condensed.
In order to restore the trajectory of the protagonist's life, the film's main creative team went to Kaishan Island many times to interview and experience life, eat and live with Wang Shihua, and experience the daily experience of the island keepers and experience the people's journey of the island people through the way of "living under the island". The film brings a strong impact, shock and appeal to the audience.
