After the results of the Iranian election were announced, countries sent congratulations one after another. This time, the congratulatory letter sent by the Chinese side is much longer than the previous congratulatory message to Raisi, and some of the statements have also changed. Obviously, the Chinese side needs to say a few more words about the new president of the "pro-American" faction.
Pezeshizijan won
Recently, the Iranian presidential election came to an end, and the results were officially released. However, in the end, it was not the much-talked-about conservative Jalili who was elected, but the reformist Pezeshiziyang, who participated in the election alone. After the results were released, many countries, including China, sent their blessings one after another. However, China's congratulatory message this time is extraordinary.
Unlike when President Raisi took office before, China's congratulatory message this time was half longer than last time. Three years ago, China's congratulatory message to Raisi was only 87 words, while China's congratulatory letter to Pezehiziyan was 174 words.
In the congratulatory letter to Raisi, after emphasizing the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, the Chinese side made some regular statements, expressing China's willingness to strengthen cooperation and consolidate mutual trust with Raisi on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
However, in the congratulatory letter to Pezeshiciyan, the Chinese side emphasized the long history of Sino-Iranian exchanges, and pointed out that the bilateral relations between the two countries have always maintained a healthy and stable development trend. A considerable part of the chapter is devoted to summarizing the friendly relations between the two countries.
At the end of the congratulatory letter, the Chinese side once again stressed that it is willing to work with the new president to help the relations between the two countries continue to advance in depth. The reason why China's congratulatory message is different from the past has a certain relationship with the particularity of the new president of Iran.
Former Iranian President Raisi
In the recent second round of the election, Petzeshizisyan won 53.7% of the votes, totaling about 16.4 million votes, and by nearly 3 million votes, defeated his rival, the well-known conservative Jalili, to win the final election.
Pezeshiziyan is a figure with a rich background, with experiences spanning the medical, military, and political fields. He served in the military in his early years, became a cardiac surgeon, and also served as Iran's health minister and first deputy speaker of the parliament. He is also a rare reformist among the candidates for the presidency of Iran.
After his victory, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei also sent a congratulatory letter. In his congratulatory letter, he expressed the hope that after Pezecchi came to power, he would be able to continue the path of the late Raisi and make his own contribution to the happiness of the Iranian people and the progress of the country.
In his first public speech after his victory, Pezeshiziyan also pledged that he would serve all the Iranian people, listen to their voices, and "fulfill all the promises he made"; Pezeshziyan also stressed that his victory will open a new chapter for Iran.
It is worth noting that in terms of his attitude towards the West, Pezeshiziyan has a different opinion from the conservatives. His campaign focused on improving international relations, attracting foreign investment, and promoting economic development.
Unlike his rival, former nuclear negotiator Jalili, who is in favor of maintaining the status quo. Pezeshziyan recognized the negative impact of Western sanctions on Iran's economy. As a result, he said he was willing to actively improve relations with the United States and Western countries, to engage in "constructive negotiations" with them, and to lift these sanctions as a matter of priority, even at the cost of reviving the JCPOA, something that the previous Raisi government would not have considered. It can be seen from this that Pezeshiziyan can be regarded as a "pro-American".
The Iranian people voted in the second round of elections
However, despite winning the election, the internal and external troubles faced by Pezeshiziyan should not be underestimated. At present, Iran is facing problems in many aspects, including politics, economy, society, and international relations. Both severe domestic inflation and tensions in the Middle East pose a challenge to the new president.
In fact, the early presidential election in Iran was largely due to the tragic death of former President Raisi. Until now, there has not been a conclusive conclusion on Raisi's death, and many analysts believe that the United States and Israel are indispensable to it.
In this context, the international community is very concerned about the rise of Iranian reformers, and there are different opinions on whether Pezeshchiyan will have an impact on Sino-Iranian relations. However, taking into account the current situation and Iran's previous statements, it can be seen that China-Iran relations have always been a key concern for Iran, and this close relationship between the two sides will not change due to the change of leadership.
Not long ago, Foreign Minister Wang Yi also met with Iranian Acting Foreign Minister Bagheri. At that time, Bagheri said that Iran is committed to strengthening its strategic cooperative relationship with China, and actively promoting relations between the two countries and constantly making new progress.
He stressed: Under the current international situation, the development of Sino-Iranian relations will not only be of great benefit to the peoples of the two countries, but will also play an immeasurable role in safeguarding world peace and stability.

Khamenei, on the other hand, is Iran's true supreme leader. Earlier, Khamenei also made a special speech, pointing out that "those who rely on the United States cannot manage the country", and the United States also announced the latest sanctions against 50 Iranian entities and individuals on the same day.
It is not difficult to see from this development that against the background of nearly 50 years of confrontation between the United States and Iran, Khamenei has quite rich experience in the "struggle" against the United States, and it is necessary to give the candidates a "preventive shot" in advance. After all, Khamenei knows very well that relations between the United States and Iran cannot be normalized, and the United States will definitely not be a trustworthy ally. In this case, if Pezeshiziyan wants to ease relations with the United States, Khamenei is likely to be the first to stand up against it.
At present, it seems that the congratulatory letter sent by the Chinese side is obviously intended to raise more points about the new president in the context of China-Iran relations. However, under the current international and regional situation, the relations between China and Iran are still very solid. The various public opinion offensives launched by the United States and the West will not shake the fundamentals of friendly exchanges between China and Iran.
