Famous veteran artist Yang Zaibao passed away on February 13, 2021, at the age of 85. Due to the pandemic, his burial ceremony and memorial service was held on October 24.

Yang created many screen images before his death, and his acting career ran from 1952 to 2007, except for 1971, when he was framed as an "active counter-revolutionary" and imprisoned for 4 years, 3 months and 14 days, the rest of the time he was filming intermittently, winning the Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Awards several times, and repeatedly appeared in the authoritative film magazine "Popular Film" at that time.
He has a good character throughout his life, treats every role with heart, and it is not an exaggeration to say that he is an artist with both virtue and art.
Because of his clear and tough facial features and manly appearance, when he was admitted to the East China Branch of the Central Academy of Drama, Yang Zaibao was affectionately called "Tank Soldier" by his teacher.
Later, Yang Zaibao basically played a righteous role, and because of this, he was initially called "the first tough guy on the screen".
After entering the ancient rare years, Yang Zaibao still maintains an optimistic and open-minded attitude, and spends his mind on reading, fitness, and practicing calligraphy. The latter developed a keen interest at a young age, as the filming time was tight and there was not much time to practice. After retiring from the circle, he began to explore and study, and launched the "Mr. Yang Zaibao Personal Calligraphy Exhibition" in Zhongshan Park, with a total of 37 calligraphy works on display, which received great attention.
