Bioengineering in China has reached a new level, producing protein rice from meat. Scientists have learned how to grow meat cells inside grains. This food is more nutritious and can reduce the burden on the producer in the meat production process.

Grain cultures are specially processed, after which a thin layer of chicken or pork cells is grown on top of the grains. Scientists chose rice because of its properties, namely the presence of fiber and other nutrients.

Outwardly, this cereal is indistinguishable from ordinary cereals. After heat treatment, the mixing structure begins to smell like a mixture of rice and meat, while retaining the nutritional properties of both ingredients. Its fiber contains carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals from regular rice and meat.

The new rice aims to reduce the burden on the meat industry and save a lot of resources. Authors of such structures must now be certified for larger-scale studies.
