ZHANG Bin
Founding partner and presiding architect of Zhizheng Architectural Studio
Visiting Professor, School of Urban Planning, Tongji University
Zhizheng Architectural Studio always takes the special problems faced by the specific project itself as the starting point of its work, with the goal of integrating the various resources that exist in reality, seem to be isolated or even conflicting with each other into an intrinsically highly consistent whole, and through the revelation and presentation of the hidden potential of different projects, we can gain insight into the contradictions of the world in which we live: the present and history, the local and the global, the environment and development, reality and ideals... Thus, architectural practice is not only about material creation, but also about the understanding and expression of existence and nature. We are committed to an architectural act that has a deliberate and then intrinsic temperament, on the one hand a rational and restrained technical choice, and on the other hand a creative and imaginative comfortable life.
