Beijing, July 10 (Reporter Song Yusheng) "I'm sorry, Mom! I was sick, still with leukemia. It is said that the harder you work, the happier you are, and I also think that going to college and graduate school will bring you closer to happiness, but it turns out that my efforts have brought only tribulations and despair to this family. ”

Last year, a letter from a Hunan leukemia patient to his mother brought countless people to tears. The optimism and detachment of the protagonist, the strength and greatness of the mother, and the inseparability of the family are all touching. But the author of the letter was ultimately unable to overcome the disease.

The reporter learned that Li Zhen died in Hebei Yanda Hospital on July 7. On the 9th, the body was cremated at the Tongzhou Funeral Home in Beijing.

Fought the disease for four years

In September last year, the variety show "See Words Like Faces" broadcast a series of letters with the theme of "life and death". Among them, a letter from Li Zhen, a leukemia patient, wrote to his mother - "I'm sorry, Mom! I'm sick" touched countless viewers.

That year, Li Zhen, who was only 28 years old, had been battling leukemia for three years.

In 2014, Li Zhen, who graduated from the Department of Geographic Information of Hunan City University, was admitted to the Graduate School of Resources and Environment of South China Agricultural University. "But on the 3rd day of getting the acceptance letter, I suddenly started to have a persistent fever, vertebrae pain, and bleeding eyes." Subsequently, Li Zhen was diagnosed with leukemia.

For a time, the family became the biggest reliance.

"At the beginning of the illness, the eldest brother said that he must save me, and without hesitation, he took out all his savings, carried a debt for me, provided for bone marrow transplantation, and even proposed a divorce for fear of my sister-in-law's opposition; the second sister-in-law was once too distressed to hear my voice; the seven-year-old niece cried that she would no longer eat snacks and left the money for her uncle to treat me; afraid that you would not take good care of me, the eldest brother resolutely quit his job and concentrated on taking care of me until he was discharged from the hospital."

In 2015, after receiving a bone marrow transplant, Li Zhen was discharged from the hospital. In September of that year, he began his studies at South China Agricultural University.

But the disease did not let go of Li Zhen. In September 2016, due to lung infection and rejection, he had to stop his campus life and come to Yanda Lu Daopei Hospital in Yanjiao for treatment, where his father was engaged in farm work at home and his mother accompanied Li Zhen.

During this time, his mother's meticulous care made him "unable to give up on himself".

He said to his mother: "No mother does not have a family, for this family you have to take care of yourself; about me, let's work hard, I will not regret and complain, you do not have to blame yourself; be optimistic and strong to enjoy life, do not dwell on the past." ”

Letter from a leukemia patient

In March 2017, after several critical illnesses and rescues, Li Zhen sent a letter thanking his mother and family under the condition of "not knowing how long it could last". The letter came to be known as the "Confession of motherhood."

"Li Zhen's letter was chosen not only because the story of his experience is really touching, but also because his letter is really beautifully written. This is where the true feelings of the world lie. Guan Zhengwen, the director of "Seeing Words as Faces", once said this about the reason for using this letter.

In a show that aired last September, actor Huang Zhizhong read the letter aloud. During the reading of the letter, he choked up several times. After reading a letter, I was in tears.

Judging from the broadcast footage of the program, including Li Zhen's mother, many people at the scene shed tears at that time.

However, Li Zhen did not shed tears that day.

Later, he said in an interview, "I was very touched in my heart, but for me, the content of this letter is only a small part of my experience in the three years of illness, and it is also something I want to say to my family, and I want to listen calmly."

On September 22 of that year, the letter was collected by the Family Book Museum of Chinese University.

In February 2018, Li Zhen wrote another letter to his mother. "Mom, I'm going to say sorry to you again!" I really worked hard and didn't give up on myself easily, but I was really useless, and in the end, my illness became more and more serious and helpless. Even if you get the care and support of so many people, you are still going downhill! ”

In this letter, Li Zhen confessed a lot to his family, girlfriend, teachers and classmates. One of them is particularly striking - saying sorry to the rest of the family, but the debt owed "can not be repaid, integrity-based."

On July 6, Li Zhen suddenly stopped having a fever, and at that time, his family felt a little better, but he did not expect that Li Zhen left on the evening of the 7th.

"Handsome to live"

On the 8th, his girlfriend Xianghua announced the news of Li Zhen's death in the circle of friends through Li Zhen's WeChat.

"Thank you for four years of mutual help and mutual support, Li Zhen has gone to a world without leukemia yesterday, I don't know what language to use to express, kneeling to thank everyone, four years, he tried his best, we also tried our best, kneeling thanks, I wish everyone well!"

Li Zhen's WeChat avatar is an emoji with the words "handsome to live". Xiang Hua told reporters that the avatar was changed by Li Zhen after he left the campus in 2016. If you don't know his condition, you can't imagine that this will be a young man who has been battling leukemia for four years.

In fact, many people who have been in contact with Li Zhen say that the biggest feeling he gives people is optimism. Xiang Hua used the words "sunshine" and "positive" to describe him.

She told reporters that even for her, Li Zhen did not easily show his fragile side. After getting sick, such a strong Li Zhen is even more distressing. "It gives the impression that he is particularly strong, especially tolerable, especially wants to live, and he has made efforts himself." Only when he felt that he really couldn't resist it would he tell me, 'You live well'. Xiang Hua could not cry when he said this.

In Xiang Hua's memory, this kind of "can't resist" was only when Li Zhen was critically ill twice, one of which was just a few days ago.

When the reporter asked what could help them as a media, Xiang Hua said, "I hope everyone can pay more attention to the group of leukemia patients, because they are really too difficult."

At the end of the letter, Li Zhen said: "Life has its own opportunities, and fate has its own trajectory. If one day, there is really nothing that can be done, and I hope you can understand, it is just a natural law. May you hold back your tears and smile at the past! Because I'm just changing my ways and staying by your side. (End)
