Xie Kui: Recall the beginning and end of the 46th Army against the enemy

Hikiko

*This article is excerpted from the third volume of "Laiwu Literary and Historical Materials" (November 1987), by Xie Kui, the original title is "Memories of the Internal Work in the 46th Army of the Kuomintang"

Xie Kui (1913.2-2010.3), formerly known as Bi Kekun, was a native of Liushuji, Dongshan Town, Rongcheng, and a member of the Communist Party of China. He used to be the political commissar of the Qingdao Sanatorium of the Air Force. Xie Kui joined the revolutionary work in 1938 and joined the Eighth Route Army in January 1939. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he successively served as a liaison officer of the Enemy Engineering Section of the Political Department of the Jiaodong Military Region, the secretary of the special task force of the East Naval Division, a student of the First Branch of the Shandong Anti-Japanese Military and Political University, an officer of the Propaganda Section of the Political Department of the East Naval Division, and a deputy instructor and instructor of the 3rd Battalion of the 9th Regiment of the 6th Division of the Jiaodong Military Region. He has participated in many anti-"mopping-up" battles and instigated rebellion and intelligence gathering inside the enemy.

During the Liberation War, Xie Kui successively served as the deputy chief of the Research Section of the Liaison Department of the Political Department of the Jiaodong Military Region, the deputy chief of the Liaison Section of the Political Department of the New 5th Division of the Jiaodong Military Region, and the chief of the Liaison Section of the Forward Command of the Jiaodong Military Region. In 1946, under the instructions of his superiors, together with Yang Side, he was secretly sent by Commander Chen Yi to the 46th Army of the Kuomintang to do the work of dismantling and counteracting under the commander Lieutenant General Han Liancheng. Through the efforts and maneuvers of various parties, the task was successfully completed and he was awarded the "Special Meritorious" by the East China Military Region. During the war years, he was awarded the second and third class merits five times. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Xie Kui successively served as chief of the Propaganda Section and Chief of the Education Section of the Political Department of the 32nd Army of the Army, deputy political commissar and political commissar of the 524th Antiaircraft Artillery Regiment of the Air Defense Force, political commissar of the Zhejiang Air Defense Department of the Air Defense Force, secretary of the joint party committee of the 4th Regiment of the 526th Regiment, 529th Regiment, Radar Regiment and Ground Supervision Regiment of the Air Defense Force in Zhejiang, deputy director and director of the Political Department of the 106th Air Force Antiaircraft Artillery Division, political commissar of the 2nd Air Force Division, and political commissar of the Qingdao Sanatorium of the Air Force. He retired in August 1976.

Xie Kui was awarded the Order of Independence and Freedom of the Third Class, the Liberation Medal of the Third Class, the Special Meritorious Service Medal of the Laiwu Campaign, and the People's Hero Medal of the Second Class of the East China Military Region.

After reading the whole article, I feel that the staff engaged in enemy work are simply fighting with their heads on their heads, and they may die at the hands of the enemy at any time, or they may die at the hands of their own people. Especially when dealing with low-level personnel, it is light to fists and feet, and heavy is sticks and peanuts. Don't beat and scold the prisoners, the policy belongs to the policy, and the means belong to the means.

In addition, I found that I was lonely and unheard, and Laiwu was assigned to Jinan in 2019 [covering my face], and I have always been disgusted with changing the name of the place at every turn.

Xie Kui: Recall the beginning and end of the 46th Army against the enemy

body

The 46th Army was transported from Hainan Island to Jiaodong in the winter of 1946. The 46th Army is the main force of the Guangxi Army, not Chiang Kai-shek's descendant, known as the "Steel Army", and worships Li Zongren and Bai Chongxi. There was a contradiction with Chiang, and they did not call Chiang Kai-shek Chairman Chiang. The whole army has about 26,000 people, under the jurisdiction of the new 19th, 175th, and 188th divisions, and Han Liancheng is the lieutenant general. Major General and Deputy Chief of Staff Guo Jinhuai has a good relationship with him, and there is also a Major General Chief of Staff and Director of the Political Department named Yang Zanmo. Chao Wei, the commander of the new 19th Division, I heard that this person is a spy. Major General Gan Chengcheng of the 175th Division is Li Zongren's nephew, and Major General Hai Jingqiang of the 188th Division is Bai Chongxi's nephew. This army is roughly divided into two factions: the one headed by army commander Han Liancheng, including deputy chief of staff Guo Jinhuai, some staff officers, some battalions, companies, and platoon commanders; The other faction was headed by Hai Jingqiang, because more than 90 percent of the soldiers were from Guangxi, and Han Liancheng was from Gansu, and in fact the 46th Army was under Hai Jingqiang's control.

I heard that Premier Zhou and Dong Lao (Dong Biwu) both knew Han Liancheng, and according to Han himself and the 46th Army were Gui troops, not Chiang Kai-shek's descendants, they had contradictions with Chiang Kai-shek and anti-Chiang thoughts; After the troops were transferred to our Jiaodong, they were afraid of being annihilated by us, and they had the characteristics of strong preservation strength. Therefore, the Central Committee instructed the East China Bureau to take the initiative to open up relations with Han Liancheng, and after sending people to dredge up the relationship several times, the East China Bureau sent Comrades Shu Tong and Yang Side to talk to us, that is, formally established relations with me in Shandong. Han Liancheng asked us to send someone into the interior to do liaison work. At the beginning of January 1947, Comrade Yang Side led me into Landi and began to work formally in the 46th Army, under the name of a senior intelligence officer. Later, Section Chief Yang (Yang Side) appeared in the name of the secretary again, Section Chief Yang was named Li Yiming, and I was known as Liu Zhibin. In January, when he was in the Landi area of Jiaodong, Section Chief Yang reported back to the Jiaodong Military Region once. We asked Han Liancheng to restrain his troops from being dispatched to avoid misunderstandings; He also asked us not to break the road, so that the traffic between the north and the south could flow unimpeded. He said that if the 54th Army needs his cooperation in the attack, he wants us to concentrate our forces to annihilate the 54th Army and use a small number of troops to contain his Korean troops, and he will advance slowly. If he wants to leave Jiaodong, he wants us to actively attack and drag him back, which can be seen that Han Liancheng is unwilling to leave Jiaodong, he is trying to preserve his strength, for fear of being annihilated. At the end of January, when the Han Department was transferred from Landi to Zibo to cooperate with the operation of the 12th Army, he asked us to remain silent on the Jiaoji line, and after he opened west, he asked us to immediately move to Jimo, Lancun and other places, in order to drag his troops back. This also shows that Han Liancheng is unwilling to leave Jiaodong, and Section Chief Yang also reported this situation to the Jiaodong Military Region.

Xie Kui: Recall the beginning and end of the 46th Army against the enemy

At the beginning of February, the 46th Army all reached Boshan. Wang Yaowu and Li Xianzhou convened a meeting of senior officers of the 73rd, 12th, and 46th armies in Boshan to study the matter of attacking our army, and Han Liancheng also attended. Section Chief Yang inquired about the military deployment to Han that night and told me the details of the meeting. In the second half of the night, he sent me to the Luzhong Military Region to contact and report. It was the first time I went to Boshan, and I went out in the middle of the night, and I encountered two plainclothes interrogations on the way, both of which I prevaricated as a Kuomintang spy agent. And asked them the route to the southeast. When I arrived at the restaurant on the border of Boshan, I met more than a dozen returnee regiments during dinner, and when the elders of the returnees saw me, I took cigarettes and gave them cigarettes to smoke; in order to understand the situation and facilitate the smooth outing, I talked with them for two or three hours, and learned from them the address of the Luzhong Military Region and the route to pass through the marginal villages. They said that in these two villages, during the day, the Kuomintang plainclothes spies and homecoming groups went to activities; In the evening, we went in for activities. Not far outside the village was blocked by the militia of our county brigade and district squadron, and mines were planted everywhere, and it was dangerous to go out. I asked the returnee group again, which people in these villages are the best and which are the worst? They say that the best is inclined towards them, and the worst is ours. They also learned that in the northeast corner of the village on the left, there was a Chinese medicine shop owner in his 50s, who they said might be a member of the Communist Party. Based on what I learned, I entered the village on the left at dawn. I found the Chinese medicine shop, but it didn't open yet, so I called the door open in the name of buying medicine to save my wife, so that he could send me out safely. As a result, it was not the boss in his fifties who opened the door, but a young man in his thirties, and as soon as I met, I said, my wife is seriously ill and is in a hurry to buy more than ten flavored medicines, so I asked the old gentleman to come out and match me. He said that the old gentleman was not at home and asked me to give him the prescription. He can match it too. I-Think, it's just dawn, he opens the door in his clothes and can dispense medicine, it must be someone from the pharmacy family, maybe the boss's son. So, I immediately changed my words and said, comrade, please don't be afraid, to tell you the truth, I am not from a neighboring village to buy medicine, I came to call your door in the name of buying medicine to save my mother, if I don't say this, you won't open the door, I am a scout of the Jiaodong Military Region, tracking the Kuomintang army from the Jiaoji railway line has just arrived in Boshan, and I want to find the Luzhong Military Region to report the enemy's situation. I repeated and spoke to him earnestly for about three hours, and he remained silent. I also said that according to the Returning Regiment, this place has been completely blocked by the militia of the county brigade and the district squadron, and there are mines planted everywhere, and it is dangerous to go out. Because I had to report a particularly urgent piece of information to the Luzhong Military Region, I was afraid that the road would be unsafe, that I would delay my important tasks, and that I would cause heavy damage to the party and the people, so I came to ask the old gentleman to lead me along the way and tell us where our troops and militia were, so that I could go to them and send me to the Luzhong Military Region. He also heard that the road out of the village was blocked by landmines, and he did not know where the troops and militia were. No matter how I say it, he will never lead the way. Finally, I said that when I was having dinner just now, I met more than a dozen returnee groups in the restaurant, and I knew from them that your old gentleman was a member of the Communist Party and his own people. That's why I dare to tell you, come to ask for your help, I'm alone, I have nothing on me, only a few packs of cigarettes. At this time, I took off all my clothes to show him that I didn't have anything on me. I also said that the Returning Youth League already knows that the old gentleman is a member of the Communist Party, so please tell the old gentleman to be especially careful and vigilant. After a while, the old gentleman came out from behind, and I told him for a while, and he saw that he didn't show me the way, and I didn't leave, so he said to me: "I'm not a member of the Communist Party, I don't care which side you are, see if you insist that I show you the way, I can only show you a little ahead, not far." "This old comrade led me along the path of digging coal and sent me more than a mile away. He said I couldn't go, and there were people not far ahead, so he showed me the way and told me to pay attention. About two miles from the village, I had just descended the slope when I was pointed at guns by a dozen militiamen with guns. In order to avoid misunderstanding, I immediately raised my hands and said, "Please don't get me wrong, I'm not an enemy, I'm our own people, don't point a gun at me, don't believe it, you can search." "They searched my whole body, took away my cigarettes, Kuomintang banknotes, a pass from the Jiaodong Military Region, and a small handkerchief, tied my hands behind my back, and escorted me at gunpoint to a militia headquarters more than three miles away, where I was repeatedly examined for more than half a day. I took off my clothes and checked them, tore them open my cigarettes and asked me what I was doing. I said: I am the head of the reconnaissance section sent out by the Jiaodong Military Region, and I have followed the Kuomintang army from the Jiaoji railway line to conduct reconnaissance. He said: Nonsense! You're a high-ranking agent. I said, you don't believe me, please send me up quickly, the sooner the better, don't delay the time, because my intelligence is too urgent, it's better to send me directly to the Chuanglu Central Military Region, otherwise, you and I can't bear this heavy responsibility. I'm not a high-level spy, I'm the head of the reconnaissance section of the Jiaodong Military Region, and my name is Xie Kui. Assuming that I am a high-ranking agent, you should also send me to my superiors for review as soon as possible so that I can learn about the important situation of the enemy. After a delay of more than half a day, I repeatedly asked for a quick delivery, and they sent four people to escort me to the district squadron. That's when I learned that this was indeed the militia headquarters.

When I got to the district squadron, they sent two more comrades with guns to look at me. After that, I was interrogated again. I repeatedly told them that I was the head of the reconnaissance section sent by the Jiaodong Military Region, and my name was Xie Kui, who had just arrived in Boshan to follow the Kuomintang troops from the Jiaoji railway line and conduct reconnaissance, and that I had to report to the Luzhong Military Region because I had obtained particularly important military information. They asked me about any particularly important military information, and I said that this was an instruction from my superiors, and that I could only report it to the Luzhong Military Region, and then quickly inform the East China Military Region, and I was not allowed to leak it to anyone or any department. So, I can't tell you, please forgive me. No matter how many times you ask me, if you say something unpleasant, even if you beat me to death, I won't tell you. It has been almost two days since I came out of Boshan, and I can't afford to waste any more time, please send me to the Luzhong Military Region as soon as possible, the stakes are very high, the situation is urgent, and if I delay time, it will cause immeasurable losses to the party and the people, and you and I will become black. After this negotiation, they untied me, and the district squadron looked at me for another day. I have repeatedly asked them to invite the responsible comrades of the county brigade, or the chief of the enemy engineering section of the military sub-district, or the head of the enemy engineering department and the enemy labor committee of the county, to talk about it. Later, I found a county dare to work committee. Before the county enemy workers came in, they told me that the enemy workers were coming, so as soon as the enemy workers entered the door, I first shook hands with him and said, "We are a family and we are peers, and I am from the Liaison Department of the Jiaodong Military Region, and my name is Xie Kui, and I was sent by the East China Military Region to penetrate into the enemy's army." I can't tell you which enemy army is working in, it's discipline to do what we do. I can't reveal my identity as an intrusion into the enemy, I now have particularly urgent information, which is particularly important for the Battle of Lunan and needs to be reported to the Luzhong Military Region as soon as possible and forwarded to Commander Chen of the East China Military Region. I have never been to the Luzhong region, the people are unfamiliar, the spoken language is not right, and the clothes are the same, please send someone to send me to the Luzhong Military Region as soon as possible, if you don't believe it, please send a few more people. We talked back and forth for more than three hours, and finally he said, go back and study it, and tell you again, and it turned out to be another half of the day. Come back and say to me, you don't know the way, don't waste any more time, we will send six comrades to protect you, give you a mule, and send you to the Luzhong Military Region. I was immediately grateful.

After several twists and turns, delayed for two or three days, and set out from midnight until the next night, the Luzhong Military Region was found. After arriving at the Luzhong Military Region, the Liaison Department of the Military Region came forward, and I briefly told them about the situation of infiltrating the Kuomintang army, and it seemed that they did not believe it. I said that I had been sent by the East China Military Region to work in the Kuomintang army, and they were not yet fully convinced, so I asked to see the head of the military region immediately to report important information and report it to Commander Chen Yi as soon as possible. On the morning of the second day, Li Bingnan, deputy political commissar of the Military Region, saw me, and I reported to him how we had entered the 46 th Army, and then reported to him the information that Section Chief Yang had received from Han Liancheng: The 46 th Army had all arrived at Boshan one after another, and Chen Cheng's attempt was to flee from the north and south to flank our army. Wang Yaowu and Li Xianzhou convened a meeting of senior officers of the 73rd Army, the 12th Army, and the 46th Army in Boshan, which had advanced southward, and made military arrangements. Han Liancheng said that Lunan is at the juncture of a battle, and both sides are mobilizing troops for a battle, and this battle is a turning point in the entire situation. At their meeting, it was decided that the 46th Army under the command of Han Liancheng on the northern front, and the 1st and 12rd armies of the 73rd Army and all of them would attack Laiwu Xintai from their original positions. The 12th Army served in the direction of Laiwu, and the 46th Army went straight to the direction of Xintai. Han Liancheng said that he had legal constraints on the 12 th Army, demanded that the Luzhong Military Region have a good grasp of the policy, and asked him to contact the Luzhong Military Region as soon as possible and ask them what they wanted. He also asked me to ask Commander Wang (Jian'an) to inform him of the general situation of his troops in order to facilitate his restraint of troops.

At the same time, we suggested to the Luzhong Military Region that if we did not attack the 46 th Army, we would only do so, and if we did, we would be severely and severely attacked. It is best to send cadres to set up contact points on key roads and keep an eye on our entry and exit, so as not to fail to communicate in time. The military region is requested to send more local troops and militia to the front to harass the enemy troops. It is best to print and distribute propaganda materials to vigorously publicize our principles and policies. In addition, please tell us about the situation of the Luzhong Military Region so that we can deal with Han Liancheng. I asked Deputy Political Commissar Li to quickly forward my above report to Commander Chen Yi of East China and asked for instructions from us. Deputy Political Commissar Li said, "Very well, I am ready to contact East China and report to Commander Chen on all the information you have discussed." He also said that Commander Wang Jian'an led the Ninth Regiment and the militia to block and harass the enemy at the front, and all the troops were mobilized to the south, and asked me to wait for East China's instructions. After staying for more than a day, Deputy Political Commissar Li came to me to tell me, and Commander Chen said, "You are very brave, and your report on the situation is very timely and very important." You need to try to safely and quickly return to the enemy troops, try to hold off the enemy, and stop the enemy's advance. And to break through the enemy, to advance to his disadvantage, easy to misunderstand, dangerous. Deputy Political Commissar Li said that he wants you to go back and find out the specific arrangements of the 46th, 12th, and 73rd armies and their intentions as soon as possible, and personally report to Commander Chen. I immediately asked Deputy Political Commissar Li to send people to the front to find out where the enemy was advancing.

After finding out that the enemy had reached Xintai and the route of the march, the military region sent a squad to inquire with the militia, to inquire with the troops, to inquire about the situation, to send me to the edge, and to point me in the direction of advance, and I went alone. Because there were empty houses and clear fields for two or three hundred miles, and there were no people, the militia planted mines everywhere, so they could only pay attention to the underground, and the militia's cold guns could not be guarded against, and they had no time to dodge, so they still walked forward generously. If you dodge, you may arouse the suspicion of the militia, and the shooting will be even more powerful.

That night, I went to Xintai, reported the above situation and Commander Chen's instructions to Section Chief Yang one by one, and conducted research. The second time, Section Chief Yang told me about the new deployment and intentions of the 46th, 12th, and 73rd Armies, and asked me to report to Commander Chen. After I reported to Commander Chen, the gist of Commander Chen's instructions were: First, Han Liancheng sincerely told us many problems and expressed his gratitude, and we hoped that he would always work together for the cause of the nation; Second, the Party Central Committee and I have no doubt about him, please rest assured that our field army will never fight him, and in order not to expose our relationship, we cannot tell the local corps about our problems. Third, we have enough strength to hold on to Mengyin City, and if we don't defend Mengyin, it will directly affect the battle in the south. Tell Han Liancheng that his troops are as far as Changlu, otherwise any army will have to fight when it goes. With regard to the northern and southern fronts, we also have enough strength to achieve victory, and I hope that he can rest assured; Fourth, I hope to keep in touch in the future to avoid misunderstandings; Fifth, we have organs and materials in the mountainous areas of Xintai and Mengyin, and our main force is completely in the area of Changlu Dongshan, and the local corps are all on both sides. I took these instructions from Commander Chen back to the 46th Army, reported to Section Chief Yang, and conducted research. Section Chief Yang went to tell Han Liancheng again, and Han said that it was very good, and he decided to retreat and not advance.

The third time, Section Chief Yang sent me to report the situation to Commander Chen, and Commander Chen's instructions were to the effect:

(1) Our determination and arrangement for the Laiwu Campaign: We are determined to annihilate Li Xianzhou's headquarters and one division of the 73rd, 46th, and 12th armies. However, at first, the 46th Army was not attacked, but first attacked the headquarters of Li Xianzhou in Laiwucheng and a division of the 73rd Army and the 12th Army, and after it was eaten, the 46th Army was surrounded and forced to revolt or lay down its arms.

(2) It is estimated that the battle has begun, and Li Xianzhou must be reinforced by Han Liancheng, so in the first stage, we should try to prevent him from reinforcing him. Explain to him that as long as he does not reinforce him, you will never fight him. After waiting for Laiwu to solve, you should be active. Tell Han Liancheng that if he reinforces him, he will be annihilated.

(3) In order to achieve complete victory in this campaign, you two comrades will never be withdrawn. The two of you are going to destroy 20,000 enemies, and you have to be active in them to shake the hearts of Han's army.

(4) When encircling the ROK, the ROK may turn its face, or in case of emergency, it is necessary to be flexible and calm in response to the battle. For this reason, I will tell you both determination and arrangement. You should go back to Yanzhuang (the garrison of the 46th Army) immediately, and you should try to delay time on the way, and it is better to go in later, and you can start at half past ten in the evening, and wait for the start of the battle, and then tell Han Liancheng about our determination and disposition, otherwise, leaking secrets too early will add great difficulties to the whole campaign.

(5) Before the war, I had to tell the cadres at and above the division level to pay attention to them.

6. Finally, on behalf of the CPC Central Committee and the East China Bureau, I would like to express to your two comrades: The Party cherishes and cares for comrades very much, and in order to accomplish this glorious task, it is necessary for you two comrades to shoulder this heavy responsibility.

At this time, I immediately said to Commander Chen Yi, Deputy Commander Su Yu, and Deputy Political Commissar Tan Zhenlin: "The party has cultivated and educated me all these years, although my level is not high, but under no circumstances will I bow to the enemy, please rest assured. Section Chief Yang (Sde) is of a much higher level than me, has a firm stand, and will never bow to the enemy, and please rest assured that we will complete the task. Commander Chen continued: "Okay, the fact that your two comrades have successfully completed this combat mission is that you have made great meritorious contributions to the party and the people, and you are glorious. ”

In accordance with Commander Chen's instructions to delay the time to enter, I delayed until the evening before entering the enemy camp and reported Commander Chen's instructions to Section Chief Yang. According to the instructions of our superiors, we repeatedly conducted research. In the meantime, Han Liancheng sent people to urge Section Chief Yang twice, but we deliberately delayed time on the grounds that we had not finished talking. When Han Liancheng sent his guards to invite him for the second time, we estimated that the time was almost over, and the cannon was about to go out, so we immediately went together and stated the problems we had studied to Han one by one.

Tomorrow, when the battle was raging, Wang Yaowu came by plane and ordered Han Liancheng to withdraw the 46th Army to Laiwu City. In the evening, Han Liancheng led the guard battalion to Lae City, Han and the two of us were at the forefront of the army, standing in the water outside the deer village, shouting Li Xianzhou to open the city gate, but was beaten by the 73rd Army in the city for about an hour. Section Chief Yang and I stood on both sides of Han, no matter how the enemy strafed, and always stood still.

When I entered the city, my feet were swollen. The three rooms where we were staying were hit by our mortars, which lifted me out of bed and into the ground. Breaking through at dawn, we always follow Han Liancheng. When his troops were extremely confused and shaken, Han said to Section Chief Yang: "Li, what is your opinion? It's over! Section Chief Yang immediately asked rhetorically: "What troops can you control, and what is your opinion?" Han said: "I can only master the special service battalion, the rest you know, they are all children of nobles, to a certain extent, I say they can listen?" Section Chief Yang said: "The uprising is the best, but you say that you can't control the troops, so what's the way?" I am now only responsible for protecting your life. I think there's only one way, to leave the army early and avoid putting your life at risk, especially since you're different from other people. Otherwise, it is dangerous to break through with the army. As for our sacrifice, it doesn't matter to a Communist. "Section Chief Yang intends to make his troops lose command so that they can be eliminated. Han immediately agreed, "Okay, just decide to do this." "Section Chief Yang let Han leave the army ahead of schedule, causing Han to lose his command. At the same time, Han's spy chief, staff officers, and a platoon carrying submachine guns, about twenty or thirty people, were hidden in the bunker in Lae. I immediately took off my Kuomintang officer's uniform, changed into civilian clothes, and went out to meet the troops. Not far after I came out, I was caught by our troops, who told me that I was a spy and a homecoming regiment, and they did not allow me to move, and kicked me twice. I said: I was sent by Commander Chen Yi to work inside the enemy, and there were twenty or thirty people wearing Kuomintang uniforms, all of whom were sent by Commander Chen to work inside the enemy, and they were all in the first two bunkers, waiting for our troops to come and pick them up. He didn't believe it, he didn't let me speak, he didn't let me move, and he stabbed me. And I said, you must not shoot, because you will make a big mistake when you do. Even if the enemy lays down his arms, you should not shoot or scold, not to mention that these are all comrades sent by Commander Chen Yi to work inside the enemy. They still didn't believe me, and they took me to their deputy commander, who didn't believe me, and shot me. I said, why did you shoot me, I am a comrade sent by Commander Chen Yi to work inside the enemy, even if you are captured, you cannot shoot me. As I was saying that the regiment commander was coming, I eagerly told him that in the first two bunkers, twenty or thirty people wearing Kuomintang uniforms had been sent in by Commander Chen, and they must not be shot, so they should be picked up as soon as possible. The head of the regiment was okay, but he refused to let me take them, and I asked them again and again, but they still refused, and said that it didn't matter, we would pick them up. At the same time, I said: You quickly send me to the column, and he immediately sent four fighters to send me to the headquarters of the seventh column. As soon as I entered the door, I said, "My name is Xie Kui, and I was sent by Commander Chen Yi to work in the 46th Army." At this time, a comrade came out of the inner room, and I looked at the head one by one, and I asked, "Which chief are you?" He said, "I am Commander Cheng." "I'll say right away, Section Chief Yang hid Han Liancheng, the director of the spy department, the staff officer and the guard platoon of twenty or thirty people in the two bunkers in front, please send someone to check it out quickly. Please also tell Commander Chen Yi that I can take our troops to meet you. A deputy regiment commander disagreed, beat me, and said that he would shoot me, but it didn't matter, and asked the chief to send someone to send me to Commander Chen Yi as soon as possible. Commander Cheng said, "You guys are doing a good job. "Then he immediately told the chief of staff to send someone to look at the bunker; And asked the chief of staff to send someone to send me to Commander Chen.

When I arrived at Commander Chen, I immediately reported to him: "Section Chief Yang hid Han Liancheng, the chief of the spy department, the staff officer, and the guard platoon of twenty or thirty people in two bunkers in Lae. He immediately sent someone to find me and send me here. Commander Chen said, "Very good! This task is well done, it's done, follow me. ”

Xie Kui: Recall the beginning and end of the 46th Army against the enemy

During the Battle of Laiwu, we followed the instructions of Commander Chen Yi to make Han Liancheng begin to waver, passive, hesitate, and hesitate, so that his troops could not advance, which also dragged down the 73rd Army, so that our troops moved smoothly to both sides, and soon completed the military encirclement, forming a big pocket. When the 46th and 73rd armies broke through, we fought for Han Liancheng to leave his troops early, so that his whole army lost his command, and the troops immediately fell into chaos and soon collapsed. It also directly caused the chaos of the 73rd Army, and as a result, it was completely annihilated.
