To celebrate the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai (SHETO) has been organising a series of activities in Shanghai since yesterday.
The SHETO held a reception in Zhangyuan yesterday to celebrate the 27th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland. The Director of the SHETO, Mr Cai Liang, said that over the years, Shanghai and Hong Kong have been close to each other, with close exchanges and far-reaching roots. The SHETO invited a number of emerging young Hong Kong artists to perform at the reception, showcasing Hong Kong's diverse cultural charm through Cantonese opera and string quartets.
The SHETO organised an exhibition on the theme of "Fun in Hong Kong" at Cheung Yuen to promote Hong Kong's diverse and innovative tourism experiences to visitors, as well as to implement the concept of "Hong Kong Everywhere to Travel". The exhibition features a variety of interesting interactive games for the public to experience Hong Kong in different ways, including the creation of Hong Kong-themed characters using AIGC technology, the identification of geographical locations based on sounds, and the simulated tram tour of Hong Kong, etc., to stimulate the public's interest in visiting Hong Kong in person.
The exhibition also showcased a timeline of Hong Kong's activities in the second half of the year, introducing as many as 100 events in Hong Kong in the second half of the year, covering a wide range of activities in various fields, such as arts and culture and creativity, sports, conventions and exhibitions, finance and economics and innovation and technology, festivals and celebrations, and performances. At the same time, a special zone will be set up to introduce Hong Kong's various talent admission schemes, welcoming talents and professionals from various industries and sectors to develop, work and settle in Hong Kong.
The exhibition "Fun in Hong Kong" will be held from now until 7 July (Sunday) on the first floor of Building W7 in Zhangyuan, Shanghai, and is open to the public free of charge. The SHETO and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) have collaborated to decorate a number of sightseeing buses on the pedestrian street of Nanjing East Road to showcase Hong Kong's latest tourism features. These buses will be on the pedestrian street until July 31. Tourists from all over the world and mainland China can enjoy the cityscape of Shanghai while learning about the latest travel information about Hong Kong.
The SHETO will continue to organise exhibitions, cultural performances, youth events and economic and trade seminars in East China (Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and Shandong) to promote Hong Kong in a comprehensive manner.
