Water is the soul of Jiangnan Ancient Town, and The Pond is the mother river of Zhenze, a famous historical and cultural town in China, flowing all the way from Huzhou Tianmu Mountain through Nanxun, Zhenze, Pingwang, and then into the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Zhenze Ancient Town is built on the river, and rivers such as The Pond, The Xieqiao River, and the Lotus River carry the long history of the ancient town.
According to reports, the implementation of the project respects the historical characteristics of the ancient town of Zhenze Water Town, follows the existing vein of the ancient town, and appropriately restores the historical rivers of The Pond City River, the Xieqiao River, the Lotus River and the Sanguantang Lane. Carry out comprehensive improvement around the restoration of the river, improve the infrastructure of the entire ancient town, and better serve the surrounding residents. All kinds of cultural protection buildings and historical relics scattered in the ancient town area will be connected in series, strengthening the shaping of the landscape of the historical town area and continuing the historical context. The project is planned to be implemented in two phases, the first phase is the widening of the municipal river and the restoration of waterfront buildings, and the second phase is the restoration of the historical water system of the Xieqiao River, the Sanguantang River and the Lotus River.
