The finale of "The Boy Who Can't See the Shadow" is basically in line with the initial expectations.
There is no imaginary reversal of God, and the last few episodes are basically filling in the details of the disappearance of Doudou in 1984 and the night of the disappearance of the teenager in 1993.
The only reversal is that Captain Wang Shitu's final deal with Jin Manfu is actually a ploy to invite Jun into the urn.
Let's sort them out one by one.
01. Plot combing
The whole drama of "Shadow Boy" mainly involves three cases: the disappearance of Doudou in 1984; 1993 disappearance of juveniles (417 case); At the moment, Xiao Qi replaced the case.
Now let's sort out and look back by time.
A. Doudou disappeared in 1984
Jin Manfu is a well-known local entrepreneur who runs the city's largest textile factory, and in the 80s he made a lot of money, and his family could live directly in a villa and bungalow.
After divorcing his ex-wife, he took his daughter Jin Yan and Bian Meizhen with Bian Jie to marry and establish a family of four people. But the family had hidden dangers from the start.
Out of the traditional "incense concept" and inner vanity, Jin Manfu has always wanted to have a biological son. But Bian Meizhen already has a Bian Jie, and her desire to have children is not strong. Evil fire attacked his heart, coupled with the abduction and trafficking atmosphere of the year, Jin Manfu actually came up with a bad trick: "abduction" and trafficking his son.
He found Guo Guizhi, a habitual child abductor and trafficker, told his son what his clothes looked like, and told them to abduct Bian Jie and sell him when the kindergarten was out. Here are buried toys to lure his stepson Bian Jie.
As a result, Bian Jie and his partner Doudou played, and after the two children exchanged clothes, Bian Jie witnessed Doudou being abducted by traffickers.
Doudou is the baby son of the criminal policeman Wang Shitu, Wang Shitu became an orphaned father, and then his wife died of illness, and since then he has been alone, depressed, and the missing Doudou has become an inner shadow.
B. Missing teenager in 1993
Bian Jie has become a hidden worry for his stepfather Jin Manfu, and he has always wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible, so it is naturally impossible to fulfill his father's educational responsibilities.
Mother Bian Meizhen has also been weak and sickly, only her sister Jin Yan and Bian Jie get along happily and give warmth between sisters and brothers.
With a wealthy family and neglect of discipline, Bian Jie, his classmate Wang Shuai, and Du Yi, a young man in society, became an idle gang, skipping school and school, playing and wandering, and squandered his father's money to open a factory anyway.
Bian Jie was addicted to gambling money on fishing machines and told Du Yi to go home to get the camera and steal money. Du Yi went to Jin's house to take out his belongings, and by the way, he secretly took photos of Jin Yan's bath. He washes out the photos and takes them with him, showing them off or keeping them private.
Unexpectedly, the photo was discovered by Wang Shuai and shouted, thus burying Du Yi's killing intent.
On a rainy night, the three of them still eat, drank and had fun, wandered freely, finished playing games, ate barbecue, and the three of them built a bonfire in the wild of Qinglong Mountain, and continued to eat meat and drink.
Catalyzed by alcohol, Wang Shuai brought up the photo of Du Yi again, and under the dispute between the two, Du Yi stabbed Wang Shuai with a knife. Bian Jie watched the whole process. In order to get Bian Jie involved, Du Yi coerced Bian Jie to stab Wang Shuai to death. Then the two agreed that Bian Jie would go home to steal money and get luggage, and Du Yi would bury Wang Shuai's body, and then meet at the intersection and escape together.
But Du Yi waited left and right at the intersection, only waiting for his stepfather Jin Manfu's speeding car.
Bian Jie returned home, stole money to collect luggage in a panic, and was bumped into by Jin Yan who was returning home. When the sister and brother were arguing and pushing, they accidentally pushed Bian Jie and hit the iron nail hanging on the wall, and the iron nail pierced the back of Bian Jie's head and fell unconscious.
Annoyed and painful, Jin Yan angrily committed suicide by slashing her wrist with a knife.
Jin Manfu went home and saw Bian Jie who fell to the ground and Jin Yan who cut his wrists. He hastily rescued Jin Yan, and rushed to the field with Bian Jie's "corpse".
With hatred for Bian Jie, he found a ready-made tomb, and after digging, he found that Bian Jie woke up and tried to escape, and stepped forward to tear and fight.
During the tearing, indecent photos of Jin Yan were also found, which completely stimulated Jin Manfu's killing intent, so he killed Bian Jie and buried him at the bottom of someone else's tomb.
Wang Shuai and Bian Jie were killed, and Du Yi absconded in fear of crime. It was handled as a "417" juvenile disappearance case.
C. The current case of Xiao Qi's substitution
The "present" in the play should probably be around 2000, with a mobile phone but no WeChat, there are still 5,000 blackmails, and the early stage of inflation.
Xiao Qi is a street child adopted by the crime boss Zhou Qingxiao, who has been stealing chickens and dogs since he was a child, and he has done all kinds of evil.
One day, Xiao Qi continued to steal on the bus, was caught, and during the dispute, he was seen by Jin Yan, who looked the same and was mistaken for his younger brother Bian Jie, so he recognized him enthusiastically and took it home.
Xiao Qi was regarded as Bian Jie in a daze, and entered this wealthy family, and his happy appearance made Xiao Qi feel the warmth of the family, which made him feel feelings for his mother Bian Meizhen and sister Jin Yan.
It's just that Jin Manfu knows in his heart that Bian Jie is dead, and what appears at this moment is just a stand-in.
The paper can't hold the fire, and Xiao Qi's appearance and identity exposure on the one hand re-elicit the tracing of the missing teenager, and on the other hand, it also leads to Wang Shitu's nostalgia for his missing son.
He brought Xiao Qi home, intent on filling the vacancy of the lost son and adding some warmth to the lonely life.
Of course, Wang Shitu, Qin Team and other criminal investigators continued to promote the pursuit of the truth that night in 1993, and in the end, the truth was revealed, the legal net was restored, and everyone was punished as they deserved.
02. Persona analysis
The series is mainly supported by the roles of Zhang Songwen, Rong Zishan, Cheng Taishen, Guo Keyu, and Li Jian, otherwise the reputation of this play, and even the brand of Misty Theater are likely to collapse again.
The criminal policeman Wang Shitu played by Zhang Songwen is the absolute protagonist, and at the suspense level, he guides the whole process of solving the case; At the emotional level, his grief for the loss of his son, his father-son friendship with Xiao Qi, and his correspondence with Jin Manfu have become the most important content of the whole play.
Zhang Songwen showed his "realistic acting skills" very completely in this role, that is, he put people into the details of life, and used various details to show the emotions of the characters and the direction of the plot. Therefore, in the play, music boxes, small wooden guns, harmonica, frog toys, potted plants, folding knives, iron nails, fish slaughtering, mouse catching, cameras, indecent photos, tea, and nunchucks have all become props to promote the plot, which also adds sufficient suspense atmosphere to the series.
Kim Man-bok, played by Sung Tae-sun, fights wits and courage with the criminal police, has extremely strong anti-reconnaissance capabilities, and can be regarded as an "excellent" villain. It's just that compared with Zhang Songwen's "Gao Qiqiang", he still lacks a bit of decisive underworld temperament. is too obsessed with the scenes of family love, which restricts the play of the role.
Li Jian, who is partnered with Zhang Songwen as a criminal policeman, is a positive role similar to Zhang Yi's acting skills, almost flawless, but also a lot less interesting.
is Guo Keyu, who plays the role of a mentally ill patient, in stark contrast to Zhang Songwen with his "immersive acting skills", one of the two is forbearant and introverted, and the other is wandering and withdrawn, and I feel that I can form a pair of "CP", haha. And it's this different understanding of performance that differentiates the characters and creates interesting tensions.
Several young actors such as Rong Zishan and Chen Yusi basically followed a few actors to star. Xiao Rong was able to perform while preparing for the college entrance examination, and the overall emotion was abundant online, which was a good performance.
03. Style analysis
"Shadow Boy" is a suspenseful criminal investigation drama with a pure style in the Fog Theater. The overall architecture is basically complete, and the foreshadowing and details are basically responded to in the end, which can be regarded as having a beginning and an end. Especially on the rainy night of 1993, the whole process was gradually filled in through investigation, confession, and surrender, and the whole truth was gathered little by little, which was a kind of puzzle joy.
The words of praise are pointed, so as not to be said to recharge. A few words are insufficient.
A. The plot is narrow
This is a common problem of domestic dramas, there is no way, our cultural environment and approval standards are different, and it is impossible to achieve the heartiness of Korean dramas.
For example, Jin Yan was secretly photographed only to the end, and did not dare to write darker and evil (juvenile crime forbidden area); Many shots can only be presented intentionally, and it is definitely a bloody thriller in Korean dramas; And the police had to be head-on, so much so that the final deal was turned into a ploy.
I don't dare to have more reversals and blackening, they are all limited by this, and I have to understand.
B. The pace is too slow
If you remove too many lyrical and retrospective shots, probably this story can be easily told in ten episodes. Especially when it comes to filling in the details in the later episodes, it can be simply brought out, and there is no need to go back to every detail, and then do some boring sensationalism and aftertaste.
We have long been an audience trained by Korean dramas and American dramas, and some passages feel slow at three times the speed, because of the repetition of lyricism, everyone will get bored.
C. Excessive sensationalism
This is particularly prominent in Zhang Songwen.
One is the father-son friendship between him and Xiao Qi. First of all, father and son usually don't get along too tenderly, and they all hide their concern in rough words and deeds, similar to the way Jin Jing and Hu Ge get along in "Stop and Go".
Moreover, Wang Shitu and Xiaoqi are just emotional substitutions, and their names are not justifiable, but as a result, Zhang Songwen is even more tender than his biological father.
In order to delay Du Yi's absconding, Xiao Qi took the initiative to attack and fight with him, buying time for the police to arrive at the scene.
As a result, Wang Shitu was worried about Xiao Qi's comfort, his face was feigned, and he blamed Xiao Qi for not going to fight anymore. Where is this father and son? It's a coquettish interaction that only couples have, right?
Then at the end of the play, all the cases are revealed, and the criminals are all brought to justice. Wang Shitu was going to be transferred to the provincial capital, and Xiao Qi also had his own plans. When they were about to part, the two played a game, let the tears flow on their faces, and then looked at each other and hugged each other affectionately.
This is a father and son, not a biological combination of father and son! Two brothers! Are you acting in "Springtime"? Oh, my God!
In other sensational passages, Wang Shitu misses Doudou, Xiao Qi and his mother Bian Meizhen, and his sister Jin Yan, soothing music at every turn, sensationalizing non-stop, and it makes people have a headache.
In addition, there are too many memories, whether it is the abduction paragraph in 1984 or the night of his disappearance in 1993, it also keeps appearing. Zhang Songwen went berserk several times, and Jin Manfu dug pits frequently, feeling that he was cheating funds in order to fill in the time, and he didn't consider the audience's feelings at all.
Well, that's it. I look forward to the foggy theater to have a more refined and excellent suspense production.
