The first calligraphy public welfare seminar of the Lanshan District Calligraphers Association was held in Langya Academy, the former residence of Wang Xizhi

On June 5, 2024, the first calligraphy public welfare seminar hosted by the Lanshan District Calligraphers Association opened at Langya Academy, the former residence of Wang Xizhi.

Zhang Jian, a famous calligrapher, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, doctor of art, and chairman of the Linyi Young Calligraphers Association, was invited to give a lecture, and Qian Shixi, chairman of the Lanshan Calligraphers Association, presided over the opening ceremony. Liu Shugui, Sun Yuxin, vice chairman of Lanshan Calligraphers Association, Li Shunju, director of the office, Liu Xinlei, Li Yucheng, deputy secretary general, and more than 30 members participated.

Mr. Zhang Jian imparted valuable experience in the creation method, work form, exhibition evaluation mode and other aspects in the submission process, and carefully explained the temporary creation conversion skills of cursive writing.

After class, Zhang Jian and Qian Shixi taught the two teachers from the selection, content, payment, and seal of the writing paper, from the ink method, technique, chapter method to how to absorb nutrients from the ancient calligraphy and apply it to their own creation, and in the creation, the texture of the brushwork line and the echo of the dot painting, the change of the ink color, the change of dry and wet, and the overall atmosphere of the work were taught in detail.

In the afternoon, Mr. Qian Shixi demonstrated the use of pen strokes, work lines, writing content, paper selection and other on-site demonstrations in the studio through TV projection, etc., so that all the members present had a unique face and benefited a lot.

The development of this calligraphy public welfare class not only inherits and carries forward the traditional Chinese culture, but also provides a platform for the elderly calligraphy lovers in the district to love learning and communication, and at the same time improves the artistic aesthetics and calligraphy creation level of the elderly calligraphy lovers in the district, and creates a strong learning and teaching atmosphere.
