Once the list was published, it caused great controversy. The main point of contention is Lillard's selection and Howard's defeat. The following is also for this list, to talk about their own personal views.
First of all, I also agree with everyone that I feel very sorry for Howard's failure. Lillard, though consistently playing the role of a lone hero, created countless classic shots. But in terms of honors, 6 All-Stars, 6 Best Teams (one first, four seconds, one time), All Rookie Team, Best Rookie, these are really a bit thin. And the ability to lead the team has not been shown, so far has never been in the finals, although it is a regular in the playoffs, but many times the first round has even been swept, it is a bit unreasonable.
In contrast, Howard's honors include 8 All-Stars, 5 rebounding kings, 2 block kings, 2020 NBA championships, 8 all-in-one (5 first-team, 1 second-team, 2-time third-team), 5 all-defensive teams, 2004-05 rookies, and 3 all-defensive players (4 first-team, 1 second-team). As for other controversial points, I will also express my personal views. The first controversial part is that Maddy and Yao Ming were not selected. To be honest, I like Maddy, but compared to the players who have been selected (on the premise that Lillard should not be selected), it is indeed a bit unsatisfactory. We know maddie is very talented and strong, but the luck is really bad! Without too many substantial honors, it is difficult to lead the team through the first round. Yao Ming actually has the same disease as Maddy, and can see the strength, but lacks substantive honor. Therefore, the controversy over the other entries will be even greater.
As for Anthony Davis, who is still controversial, he personally feels that he can not enter or not, and there is a certain controversy, but his personal honor is also relatively rich in the 8 NBA All-Star Team, the 4th NBA Best Team First Team, the 4th NBA Best Defensive Team (2 times first team, 2 times second team), 3 times NBA Block King, and one main championship. Most importantly, he is only 28 years old and has a lot of room for development in the future.
