According to Beijing Daily, on the evening of November 22, 2021, in the basement of Zhongguancun No. 1, Haidian District, Beijing, a BYD brand new energy vehicle "exploded". Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of the accident.

According to Autohome, in January 2022, a BYD Tang new energy vehicle caught fire on the chassis of the trailer.

According to Hainan Radio and Television Station "Online Hainan", in September 2020, a BYD Yuan EV parked on the road caught fire. BYD's official channel issued a statement: The bottom of the vehicle is deformed, and the reason for the abnormality of the battery cell caused by the previous external collision and the fire cannot be ruled out.

In August 2022, according to a report by Yicai, there was an accident on the streets of Langzhong, Sichuan Province where the BYD Han EV Qianshancui Limited Edition caught fire. The car had been burned to a black shell and was badly damaged, and it is worth noting that it took only 7 days from the time the vehicle was purchased to the time it caught fire.

In March 2024, according to Hangzhou Daily, Ms. Zhu of Suzhou drove a BYD destroyer sedan and rolled out of control after being run over a sewer grate. After the accident, the vehicle's airbag was not opened, and at the same time it burned, and the owner escaped with insurance.

In fact, the above-mentioned BYD new energy vehicle combustion accidents are just a microcosm. After all, a lot of things are hidden before they are reported.

But what is puzzling is that these BYD combustion accidents that have been reported on the Internet have almost not publicized the cause of the combustion, is it the BYD manufacturer deliberately concealing the results? Or was there no investigation at all? Don't take user security seriously?

In addition to the combustion accidents of BYD's new energy vehicles, even BYD 4S stores have also had many fire accidents.

In addition to the fire accident in Minhou County, in December 2023, BYD had four 4S store fire accidents in different regions of the country within a month! After these accidents, one has to feel a chill down the spine.

Therefore, in the complex working conditions that BYD is difficult to simulate, can BYD ensure that the vehicle does not spontaneously combust? We don't know yet.

Since BYD does not publish the results, please stop boasting that blade batteries can erase spontaneous combustion from the dictionary of new energy vehicles. Instead, we should actively improve and enhance the security system to live up to the trust of consumers.

Brief interpretation: These recalled Tang DM models, because of quality problems in workmanship and quality control, may lead to spontaneous combustion of vehicles. Therefore, if BYD's "burning and fire accidents" are due to the problems of the vehicle itself, then the author believes that it is most likely not a problem of technical routes, but a problem of quality workmanship.

Why is BYD's avoidance of the important and light?

Since BYD released the lithium iron phosphate blade battery, a number of pictures and videos of BYD's new energy vehicles smoking, catching fire, and burning due to "unknown reasons" have been circulated on major online platforms. After combing, the author analyzed the videos and pictures of BYD vehicles emitting smoke and catching fire.

In the end, it was found that most of the accidents that caught fire in BYD models were chassis fires.

Under the chassis of new energy vehicles, most of them are the layout positions of power batteries.

Although BYD basically treated these accidents coldly, through these videos and images, it is not difficult for us to guess the cause of the fire behind them.

If the engine, turbocharging and other equipment malfunction causes the fire, then the ignition point is generally at the front engine position; If a fire is caused by a flammable substance in the car, it usually burns upwards from the cabin.

A fire accident that starts from the chassis burns may be caused by the high temperature of the tires or the high temperature of the brake discs. But today, how many passenger cars spontaneously combust because of tires and brake pads? I believe that I don't need to say more, everyone knows it in their hearts.
