The maker classroom of the "Beautiful China" volunteer teaching project was put into use in Jingning
"The first batch of maker classrooms created in Jingning County Weirong Town Central Primary School, Caowu Central Primary School, and Gangou Central Primary School have been put into use, which are deeply loved by students." Zhang Zhaolan, head of Jingning County, the "Beautiful China" volunteer teaching project, said.
It is reported that in 2020, China Galaxy Financial Holdings Co., Ltd. introduced the "Beautiful China" teaching project to Jingning County, forming a tripartite cooperation between "government, society and enterprise" to jointly promote social welfare. Since the implementation of the project in Jingning County, 47 outstanding youth project teachers have been dispatched to 10 rural primary schools in the county to provide high-quality classrooms for local students, and have effectively promoted the development of rural education in Jingning in terms of supplementing the shortage of school teachers, improving the level of science disciplines, improving interest clubs, and introducing advanced educational concepts and methods.
In order to continue to benefit more students in Jingning, since 2024, the project has been upgraded to a new stage of development, that is, on the basis of the original work, the quality of after-school services in rural schools will be further improved, and a future-oriented education will be created. After many investigations and explorations, it was decided to build a maker space in line with the development of Jingning rural schools, that is, maker classrooms, so far the first batch of maker classrooms mentioned by Zhang Zhaolan have been settled and put into use in Jingning County.
In order to ensure the good operation of the maker classroom, the project is equipped with relevant training courses and course implementation plans, and the basic training of 3D printers is completed. At present, Mr. Zhang Zhi and Mr. Zhao Aoxia, who teach in Gangou Central Primary School, have carried out 3D printing courses, the main content of which includes the learning of physical tools and the learning of path following, taking the local school as the main body of modeling, printing in different regions, setting parameters, and assembling together using mortise and tenon structures, covering 720 students.
At the same time, the project has completed drone course training such as basic knowledge of drones, programming skills training, popularization of related events, safety knowledge training, emergency response training, etc., and the participating teachers have begun course practice.
"In the next three years, we will continue to design and build more maker classrooms for rural schools in Jingning County, configure corresponding equipment, carry out business training projects for maker teachers, ensure the normal operation of all maker classrooms, guide more schools and more children to enter the maker classrooms, and open the door to artificial intelligence knowledge." Zhang Zhaolan said.
According to reports, the design concept of the maker classroom aims to build an open space integrating innovation, practice, sharing and learning, and provide a dynamic, diverse and creative learning environment for students in rural schools. Jingning County will make full use of the implementation of the project, actively cooperate with and coordinate the relevant suitability, and the "Escort" project will benefit more schools, so that more students can benefit, promote the high-quality development of rural education, and help rural revitalization.
