On May 17, the longest sea-crossing bridge under construction in Guangxi once again ushered in a major node: with the successful pouring of the last span box girder on the right side of the West Auxiliary Waterway Bridge, it marks the successful completion of the Longmen Bridge and lays a solid foundation for the bridge to sprint to the goal of opening to traffic in 2024. The total length of the Longmen Bridge project is 7.637 kilometers, and the total length of the bridge is 6,597 meters, of which the main channel bridge adopts a steel box girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1,098 meters and a single-span crane full floating system steel box girder suspension bridge to meet the navigation of 20,000-ton cruise ships, and the auxiliary channel bridge is 5,399 meters long and adopts a prestressed concrete integral box girder bridge. Since the pouring of the first span box girder was completed on November 8, 2021, it took 920 days to finally complete all the box girder construction, and the Longmen Bridge was fully connected.
At present, the construction of the superstructure of the Longmen Bridge has entered the final stage. Next, the Longmen Bridge project will pay close attention to various annual goals and tasks, strictly grasp the quality and safety management of the project, steadily promote the construction of the whole surface structure, the installation of auxiliary structures and the construction of anti-corrosion coating of the project, and make every effort to sprint to the goal of completion and opening to traffic in 2024.
As a major infrastructure support project for the integration of North Qinzhou and defense, after the completion and opening of the Longmen Bridge, it will open up the "stuck point" of the Guangxi Binhai Highway, shorten the travel time between Fangcheng Port and Qinzhou Port from the original 1.5 hours to about 25 minutes, effectively promote the integration of North Qinqin and defense and the high-quality development of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and help the construction of a new land-sea corridor in the west.
