The hedgehog is born for a week
On a quiet night, I was surprised to find that the mother hedgehog had given birth to a few cute little hedgehogs at home. From that moment on, I began to record a special record of the week in which the hedgehog was born.
On the first day, the little ones have just come into the world. They were pink and tender, curled up in a ball, and trembling slightly. Each little hedgehog resembles a small ball of flesh with mucus from mom's belly on it. They snuggle up to their mother hedgehog, seeking warmth and security. The mother hedgehog is especially vigilant and guards the child all the time, not allowing anyone to approach easily.
The next day, the hedgehogs begin to slowly stretch their bodies, and their spines begin to loom. These spines are soft at first, like a thin layer of fluff. They try to explore the world around them. Although their eyes are not fully open, they instinctively squirm around their mother. On this day, I try not to disturb them, just observe from a distance and watch these little beings gradually adapt to their new environment.
On the third day, the hedgehog's spines become more pronounced and begin to have some hardness. They also become a little more active, occasionally being short away from their mother, but soon crawling back. The mother of the hedgehog still keeps them, constantly touching each child with her nose to make sure they are safe. I found the hedgehog cute when they ate milk, they tried to find the mother's nipples, arching their mouths.
On the fourth day, the hedgehog seemed to become more lively. When the mother is not paying attention, they will sneak around to explore. While the movements are still clumsy, the power of curiosity makes people laugh. Their small spines have begun to harden, creating a layer of natural protection. On this day, I changed some clean mats for their nest and tried to make them live in a comfortable environment.
On the fifth day, the hedgehog's eyes began to open slightly. Although it's just a small gap, it means that they start to really observe the world. They also become more sensitive to the sounds and movements around them. If they have the slightest wind and grass, they will soon curl up. The mother hedgehog, as always, takes care of them, feeds them, and keeps them warm. At this time, I will also play them some gentle music in the hope that they can relax.
On the sixth day, the hedgehog's eyes are completely open, and the small black eyes are full of curiosity and desire to explore. Their activities are becoming more and more extensive, sometimes even running to the edge of the nest. At this point, they can clearly distinguish between their mother and other things. I try to tease them with some soft little toys that smell their noses and then make some funny reactions.
On the seventh day, the hedgehog seems to have grown a lot. Their small spines become harder, sharper, rounder, and fuller. They started trying to play with their mom, running around in the nest. The mother hedgehog will also interact with them and teach them some survival skills. Watching these little hedgehogs grow and change day by day, my heart is full of emotion and joy.
This week, I witnessed the process of hedgehogs from birth to gradual growth. Every little step forward excites me. I also deeply appreciated the magic and greatness of life. In the future, I will continue to follow the growth of these little hedgehogs and see them become stronger and more independent. I am sure that they will bloom their beauty in this world. I will always remember the warmth and touching that this special week brought to me by these lovely little lives.
