"Happy family, good family."
On May 15, NIO's sub-brand "ONVO" was officially launched. Different from NIO's relatively high-end positioning, the Ledao brand mainly focuses on the mainstream family car market, that is, the mid-size car market of 200,000-300,000 yuan, and the first model, Ledao L60, is positioned as a medium-sized pure electric coupe SUV, and the benchmark model is Tesla Model Y, which has announced a pre-sale price of 219,900 yuan. Interestingly, NIO is full of confidence in this car, and the expected sales volume is 20,000 units per month.
In terms of appearance, Ledao L60 continues the simple and high-end design style of NIO models, the front part of the face is a prominent nose with sharpness, the lower part is a concave closed panel, the left and right sides are equipped with double-layer split headlight clusters, the upper light group is a curved and oblique daytime running light, and the lower high and low beam lights are flat squinting eyes. The trapezoidal lower grille is a regular style, complemented by a prominent front lip at the bottom, and longitudinal air intakes on both sides give the entire front end a more layered look.
The side of the car is a fastback coupe similar to the Model Y, with sleek and smooth lines, and the side skirts and thick black scuff plates, paired with a bright orange paintwork, give it a sporty look. Of course, the popular combination of hidden door handles + frameless doors will not be absent, and the two-tone star wheels also show a good sense of style. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the car are 4828/1930/1616mm, the wheelbase is 2950mm, positioning it as a mid-size SUV, and the drag coefficient is only 0.229Cd.
The rear of the car is a large hatchback shape, with slightly curved narrow rear taillights inlaid on both sides, a towering upturned ducktail shape above, and a large area of gloss black decoration on the rear surround, but other than that, there are no superfluous elements, and the overall design style is still simple and restrained.
The interior part is no longer the vertical screen design of Weilai's existing models, using a more mainstream horizontal suspension large screen, screen size 17.2 inches, built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 car machine chip, the main driving area cancels the traditional instrument panel, but it will be equipped with a HUD head-up display to replace, so that the driver's vision is more broad, and there is an 8-inch entertainment scene screen in the rear. Configurations such as a two-tone steering wheel, pocket shifter, and wireless charging panel are also expected to follow the current mainstream design.
In terms of power and endurance, Ledao L60 is based on a 900-volt silicon carbide platform, providing five 555km, 730km, 1000+ km three versions, supporting high-power fast charging and battery swapping, and the comprehensive energy consumption is only 12.1kWh/100km, rich energy supplement system and first-class energy consumption performance are the main advantages of Ledao L60.
It is worth mentioning that, unlike the Weilai brand, which only has four-wheel drive models, Ledao L60 will also launch a more entry-level two-wheel drive version of the model, and the chassis is the front MacPherson rear five-link suspension system, and the lidar is no longer used in intelligent driving, and the pure visual intelligent driving scheme is adopted, and it is equipped with 30 perception hardware as standard. All in all, all aspects are doing "subtraction", and the cost is greatly reduced compared with NIO models, which is conducive to lowering the price threshold to pursue volume.
Objectively speaking, Ledao L60 does have the product strength to compete with Model Y, but there are also many domestic competitors with the same positioning, such as Song L, Hiace 07 EV, Zhiji LS6, Haobo HT, Xiaopeng G6 and other strong rivals, almost every car company wants to snipe Model Y, competitors follow one after another, but there are very few successes, Ledao L60 is a killer or cannon fodder in the end, let time verify.
