The 2nd edition of the French Table Art Immersion Exhibition in China will be held on May 13-14, 2024 at the residence of the Consulate General of France in Shanghai.
As part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, Business France invited Mao Creations and Nothing Studio to jointly curate and design the scene, and jointly create an immersive exhibition layout with the theme of "Rêverie Française d'un avant-goût estival", conveying the aesthetics of French elegant table art and life.
The exhibition is located at No. 1431 Huaihai Middle Road, Shanghai, which is a three-story Western-style building with a lawn garden. In the 20s of the last century, a French banker named Barcelona financed the construction of this villa in Shanghai, so it was once named "Villa Barcel", and is now the official residence of the French Consul General in Shanghai.

How many early mornings, how many seas, how many gardens of the East and the West, how many times Virgil.

Two different cultural traditions and aesthetic ideas have found an intersection in this unique art exhibition, which integrates French romance with Chinese poetry naturally, allowing visitors to experience a refined and elegant lifestyle, immerse themselves in the tranquility of nature, and finally achieve spiritual integrity and satisfaction. This cross-cultural aesthetic is undoubtedly a colorful visual and spiritual journey.

Here, in the city, we can also have our own wilderness. The lemon trees in the courtyard swayed gently, and we came across a field of flowers in Grasse on a spring day, perched in a verdant southern French pine forest behind a French-style manor.
At this moment, the grass is everywhere under us, the fields are dyed green, the trees are beginning to sprout, and the jungle is covered in green, and it is the best time of the year.
—Virgil, "Pastoral"
During the exhibition, 15 French high-end tableware and home art brands will be immersed in the exhibition, presenting knives and forks, silverware, porcelain, wine utensils, kitchenware, table cloths, furniture, crystal jewelry and other products, craftsmanship and culture. The exhibition is supported by the Comité Francéclat and the label "EPV Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant", a "French Living Cultural Heritage Enterprise".
epilogue
The fascinating and nuanced core of French life is often hidden beyond the surface. It is not its bustling and beautiful details, modern city, but inadvertently lazy and free. The beauty of French life also lies in its casual and leisurely feelings. As the old Chinese saying goes: "Do not seek merit to the world, but seek nothing more than yourself", the French attitude to life is an interpretation of wisdom that is calm and calm.
