From May 9th to 12th, the 8th Surveying and Mapping Science Frontier Technology Forum was successfully held in Hefei. The forum was hosted by the Surveying and Mapping Press Co., Ltd., guided by the China Society of Surveying and Mapping, the China Geographic Information Industry Association, the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association, and the China Map Publishing House Group Co., Ltd., and jointly organized by the Editorial Department of the Surveying and Mapping Bulletin and Anhui Jianzhu University, and was supported by more than 30 units such as the Anhui Society of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation, Wuhan University, Beijing Institute of Surveying and Mapping Design, Guangzhou Urban Planning Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Institute of Surveying and Mapping Science and Technology, and Shanghai Institute of Surveying and Mapping. With the theme of "Integrating Surveying and Mapping Technology and Building a Smart Future", the forum set up a main forum and three sub-forums respectively, and conducted academic exchanges on how to plan the new development of surveying and mapping geographic information, give birth to new industries, new models, new kinetic energy, and accelerate the formation of new quality productivity.

On the morning of May 10, the opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Li Guangyun, a professor at the University of Information Engineering. Huang Xianhuai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of Anhui Jianzhu University, Zhang Yaobo, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Anhui Provincial Institute of Surveying and Mapping (Provincial Bureau of Surveying and Mapping) and Chairman of the Provincial Society of Surveying, Mapping and Geoinformation, Fan Qi, Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of Anhui Provincial Party Committee, and Lin Zhenzhong, full-time Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Map Publishing House Group Co., Ltd., attended the forum and delivered speeches. In the "Topcon Suojia Cup" excellent paper awarding session, the academicians and guests seated on the rostrum presented awards to the award-winning authors and took a group photo.

After the opening ceremony of the forum, Li Deren, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and professor of Wuhan University, gave a keynote report on the theme of "Beidou Empowers the Internet of Everything and Helps the Development of New Productivity - From PNT to PNTRC"; Wang Jiayao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of Henan University, gave a keynote report on the theme of "Spatio-temporal Big Data Platform Serving the Construction of National Integrated Computing Network"; Chen Jun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of the National Center for Basic Geographic Information, gave a report on the theme of "Real 3D China's Overall Design"; Tong Xiaohua, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, vice president and professor of Tongji University, gave a report on the theme of "Research Progress and Prospect of Asteroid Exploration, Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing"; Yan Qin, president and researcher of the Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping, gave a report on the theme of "Progress and Application of Intelligent Remote Sensing Large Model".

On the afternoon of May 10, Zhang Xinchang, academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences and professor of the School of Geographic Sciences and Remote Sensing of Guangzhou University, Lv Yuheng, deputy general manager of Tuopu Kangsuojia (Shanghai) Science and Trade Co., Ltd., Jin Shuanggen, academician of the European Academy of Sciences, vice president and professor of Henan Polytechnic University, Li Guangyun, professor of Information Engineering University, Sun Qun, professor of Information Engineering University, Jiang Weiping, dean of the Institute of Science and Technology Development of Wuhan University, director of the Satellite Navigation and Positioning Technology Research Center, and winner of the National Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Ji Hongzhuan, Chief Technology Officer of Hexagon Measurement Systems Greater China, Yang Bisheng, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing Information Engineering of Wuhan University and winner of the National Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and Guo Jiachun, Professor of Anhui Jianzhu University, made special reports respectively.

On May 11, the content of the sub-forums of the conference was also wonderful, focusing on the application of new Beidou technologies and intelligent surveying and mapping, remote sensing and emergency monitoring, geographic information and big data applications and other major topics to carry out discussions, more than ten report experts and the audience for ideological collision and in-depth exchanges. Forum 1 focused on the new technologies and methods of Beidou and intelligent surveying and mapping, and discussed the key technologies of Beidou satellite-ground cooperative location service, the key technology of Beidou multi-source fusion collaborative monitoring of large-scale buildings, and the research on disaster monitoring system based on Beidou and multi-source sensors, which provided ideas for building a Beidou satellite-ground collaborative location service technology system and further developing application fields in combination with industry scenarios. The second forum focused on remote sensing and emergency monitoring in the hot areas in recent years, and discussed the issues of intelligent monitoring and early warning of disaster emergency with integrated communication, guidance and remote communication, three-dimensional spatio-temporal intelligent application based on air-space-ground integration, and clean energy earth big data monitoring, so as to provide feasible solutions for the construction of real-life 3D China in the new era, natural disaster monitoring and early warning, etc. Forum 3 focused on the integrated application of geographic information, and discussed the construction and operation of smart cities with high-quality services for urban surveying, the application of spatio-temporal information in intelligent networked vehicles and low-altitude economy, high-precision maritime demarcation and rights protection, etc., which provided a theoretical and methodological reference for the integrated application of geographic information technology in multiple fields.

During the forum, an exhibition of surveying and mapping innovation achievements was held, Surveying and Mapping Press Co., Ltd., Tuopu Kang Suojia (Shanghai) Science and Trade Co., Ltd., Hexagon Surveying and Mapping and Geographic Information System (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. and other dozens of units showed many new surveying and mapping products and technologies, and the participating academicians, leaders and experts visited each booth, carefully listened to the latest introduction of surveying and mapping technology equipment and products, expressed appreciation for the scientific and technological innovation of surveying and mapping equipment, and expected enterprises to strive to improve the innovation level of localized equipment. With the spirit of great country craftsmen, domestic equipment will be pushed to the forefront of the world.

The successful holding of this forum summarized the latest industrial achievements in the field of geographic information industry and navigation in mainland China in recent years, and is of great significance for accelerating the development of new quality productivity and building a modern surveying and mapping industry system.
