Apple will make major changes to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max's displays, making the displays of these two flagships larger than their direct predecessors, while also incorporating a number of changes that can be seen from the exterior.
In the latest model images, we can see Apple's current high-end model, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, "side by side" with the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max, giving us a closer look at the aesthetic differences between the two phones.
The largest iPhone display is 6.7 inches, and Apple has maintained this specification for several generations in a row. However, according to earlier reports, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature larger physical panels of 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. As you can see from the image below, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a larger body size than the previous generation. This change allows users to enjoy more screen real estate, not to mention a larger battery capacity.
The iPhone 16 Pro Max also has two buttons on one side of the bezel. Apple intends to keep the "action buttons" on the upcoming models, but it's unclear whether the company has moved the volume buttons to the same side or added another "action button" to complement the user experience. Coming to the back, at least from this angle, the rear camera bump doesn't change anything between the two models, but we've reported that the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be rumored to feature a new 48-megapixel Sony sensor, the Exmor IMX903.
Add to that a quadrismatic telephoto zoom lens, and the cam's bump is likely to vary greatly. Since this iPhone 16 Pro Max is just a model, we can't comment on how thin its bezels are, and it is said that Apple will use the "Bezel Reduction Structure" technology to further reduce the bezels, which is the right thing to do, as it will be uncomfortable to use if the flagship is too big. The difference in appearance between the two models should make the launch event interesting and may even be a reason for consumers to upgrade later this year.
