My name is Jin Yu, I was born in a rural family in Rizhao, Shandong Province, my parents are authentic farmers, and I also have a younger brother.
In the fifties and sixties, my dad was one of the few high school students in the village, roughly equivalent to a graduate student now. At that time, there were only two or three children in the village who were in high school.
My grandfather used to be the village party secretary, and after my father graduated from high school, my grandfather bought him a tractor, which was very popular at that time, just like today's children as soon as they graduate from high school, their parents will buy a Mercedes-Benz, a proper rich second generation feeling.
Therefore, although Dad was very smart and knowledgeable at that time, he lacked some resilience and perseverance, and he was not a hard-working person who could endure hardships and stand hard work.
When I was a child, the village was full of dilapidated houses, potholed roads, no street lights, and when it got dark, I couldn't see my fingers. There is no way for the people in the village to make money. As the saying goes: there are three hardships in life, that is, supporting the boat, striking iron, and selling tofu. In order to subsidize the family, my mother gets up early every day to make tofu.

I have been very sensible since I was a child, and when I saw my mother getting up at two or three o'clock in the morning to work, I would also get up to help her push the stone mill and grind soybeans. Every winter it was minus 10 degrees, my hands and feet were frozen, and in severe cases, my index finger was frozen and cracked, and I could see the bones. Until now, I still have scars on my hands after frostbite.
My mother would feel sorry for me, saying that I was at the age of growing up and couldn't do such heavy work, but I still insisted on helping her. To this day, the scene of grinding in the dark is still vivid.
It is precisely because of these hardships that all the hardships in my life later in life are not bitter to me. Because I didn't rely on it since I was a child, when I encountered difficulties, I would not back down at the first time, and no matter how difficult the problem was, I would find a way to solve it little by little.
Since I grew up in a very closed and backward environment, many girls in the village went out to work after graduating from junior high school, and some girls even went astray.

Although my parents are not educated, and they don't know how to talk about life, but they have a very positive outlook, and my mother will often scold these bad phenomena at home, teaching me: girls must be self-respecting and self-loving, and know shame in order to win the respect of others, and we must not do those things that violate morality.
At that time, because I had asthma, my mother would always say consciously or unconsciously that she was worried that no one would marry me in the future, because in her perception that in the countryside, if you have asthma, it means that you are not a very useful laborer. So for a while, I had a very low self-esteem, and then it took a long time to get out of this low self-esteem environment.
I couldn't afford to pay my tuition, so I was forced to drop out of high school in my sophomore year. After working in a refrigeration factory for a year, I got a job as a trademark applier at a local state-owned enterprise.
At that time, I saw that many people with low education like me got up early and worked late, while the management received a high salary, easy work, and could enjoy weekends and various benefits. For the first time, I realized that education and academic qualifications can widen the gap between people.

Since Rizhao is very close to Qingdao, I often go to Qingdao to play. There is something new in Qingdao, I always want to get it to Rizhao. In 2003, I opened my first nail salon in Rizhao City, and I opened that shop for more than three years, and I did a good job and earned the first pot of gold in my life.
At that time, I also talked about a boyfriend, who was considered a local "famous family", but from beginning to end, his family disagreed. Although I liked the boy very much, I had to choose to break up with a love that could not see the end.

Because I grew up in a poor family, I suffered a lot. Therefore, in the education of my daughter, I will eliminate the bad experiences in my own growth and no longer let my children experience them.
When I was in graduate school, I was already 31 years old, and many of my classmates were born in the 90s, belonging to the generation of only children who grew up surrounded by love, and many of them also lacked some social and workplace etiquette.
A good relationship doesn't mean that you can make a fool of yourself, and Americans don't like to talk about it, but as long as you are sincere enough and don't be ashamed to ask, you will make a good impression on the professor. After graduating from graduate school in 2016, I did an internship for one year, and in 2017, my professor recommended me to work at a community college.
At that time, I was a little hesitant because the salary was low, only 18 dollars an hour, while other graduates would earn much more to work as project managers.
But the professor told me that they would all have to draw lots in the future to decide whether to stay, and that it would be a long and torturous process. As long as I work in a non-profit organization, I will not have to participate in the lottery in the future, and my life will be basically guaranteed. The professor's words made me pause, as a native American, she will definitely have more comprehensive information than me, and sometimes a word from someone can withstand a year's effort.
On the contrary, those memories of my childhood, which I felt were beautiful enough to heal the difficult years of my adulthood, I would like to take my children to go through them again.
I have taught my daughter to be independent, brave and kind since she was a child, and I will not criticize her all the time because she has done something wrong, blaming her for being so stupid, or why you are so lazy. In many things, only the things are not the people.

So I hired a private school teacher in Boston to teach these children English online, because the white teachers are all Americans, the pronunciation is pure, and the sooner the child learns a second language, the better, and the easier it is to accept.
The English public welfare class in my hometown has been running for 2-3 years, and now there are almost 5 classes, the children's English is improving rapidly, the pronunciation is becoming more and more standard, and some can even read a lot of small articles, I am very happy to see their progress, and I hope that more and more children can benefit.
