Chinese filmmakers Gong Li, Zhao Tao, Guan Hu, Liang Jing, Tong Liya, Peng Yuyan, Guan Xiaotong and others attended the opening red carpet. The opening film of the festival is the new work "Act II" by French ghost director Quentin Dupie, starring Léa Seydoux, Vincent Linton, Louis Garrell and other well-known French actors. Chinese films ushered in a full return in all units of this year.
This year's film festival brought together more than 200 films in various units, including 22 films in the main competition unit and 18 films in the one-kind concern unit.
Jia Zhangke's new work "The Merry Generation" after a 6-year absence, was selected for the main competition, and the director may further innovate on the basis of continuing the style of "The Old Man of Mountains and Rivers" and "Children of the Rivers and Lakes", and write the story of Chinese women's times; The historical film "Sauce Garden Lane", directed by Chen Kexin and starring Zhang Ziyi, also focuses on the relationship between women's survival and historical circumstances, presenting complex group portraits of the times; In a kind of attention unit, "Dog Formation" directed by Guan Hu and starring Peng Yuyan will start from the story of a wandering returnee and a dog, and start thinking about life and survival, and director Jia Zhangke will also appear in this film.
Director Zheng Baorui's new film "The Siege of the Kowloon Walled City" will land in the midnight screening unit. At the opening ceremony, French actress Juliette Binoche appeared as a guest, especially introducing this year's honorary Palme d'Or winner "Aunt May" Meryl Streep, she was even more excited to express "Aunt May": "You have changed the world's perception of female filmmakers, and also changed the way we see ourselves."
