Talent development
Since 1958, the School of Physics has developed into an international physics talent training center covering 5 first-level disciplines and 11 second-level disciplines.
- 5 first-level disciplines: Physics, Astronomy, Optical Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, Quantum Science and Technology.
- Physics has been rated as a national first-class key discipline.
- Physics and astronomy were rated as A+ disciplines in the discipline evaluation, and were selected into the list of disciplines in the first round of double first-class construction.
- All undergraduate majors of the School of Physics have been approved as first-class undergraduate majors in the "Double Ten Thousand Plan" of the Ministry of Education.
- In 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the college established a new undergraduate major in quantum information science.

Specialized courses
In the professional course, you will systematically learn the basic theories of physics, master basic experimental methods and skills, and cultivate the ability to think independently and solve problems.
In the cultivation of undergraduate talents, 6-level experimental courses are offered, which run through almost the entire undergraduate stage, and can be well connected with the experimental training at the graduate level.

Scientific research platform
The school has a first-class scientific research platform, and you can directly participate in the scientific research projects of your supervisor in many national and provincial key laboratories such as the National Laboratory for Synchrotron Radiation and the Hefei National Research Center for Physical Sciences at the Microscale.

Mentor team
The college has formed a team of tutors, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The teacher-student ratio of 1:4.6 makes it easy for students to get face-to-face guidance from famous teachers.

Employment and further education
The future prospects of the graduates of the college are also enviable, with a high rate of further studies and a high rate of guaranteed studies for undergraduate graduates. In 2023, 55 students will go to MIT, Harvard University, Princeton University, Cambridge University and other top international universities to continue their studies.
