Minimalist discontinuity: I don't buy perfume anymore

author:A little rich woman in the clouds

In the process of tidying up the dressing table today, I accidentally found several empty perfume bottles. The empty bottle of Hermès Nile Garden perfume stands out, and it was one of my favorite fragrances. However, since I used up my last bottle in the middle of last year, I've been hesitant to buy it again. After much deliberation, I finally decided not to buy a new fragrance, but to keep this wonderful memory in my heart.

Minimalist discontinuity: I don't buy perfume anymore

In the process of deciding not to buy perfume anymore, I deeply reflected on my attitude and needs towards perfumes. I've found that just a bottle of my favorite perfume is enough, and its fragrance has long been etched in my memory and has become an integral part of me. At the same time, I began to re-examine my consumption concept and realized that items that I didn't just need should not take up too much living space and resources.

Guided by the top five questions I asked before buying, I thought carefully about whether I really needed a new fragrance and whether it would have a significant impact on my life. I have found that I already have other fragrances with similar functions, and these fragrances are also suitable for my daily needs. In addition, I also took into account the cost of the fragrance of the perfume. In my collaboration with Jérome Epinette, Perfumer at Oolong, I learned that most of the perfume price is spent on packaging, celebrity endorsements and marketing, while the cost of the actual fragrance is only a small fraction. This made me even more determined that there was no need to spend a lot of money on an expensive bottle of perfume.

Finally, I would like to share that we can be more rational about what we have. While pursuing material comforts, we should also pay attention to the real needs and values of our hearts. Through a disconnected and minimalist lifestyle, we can better understand ourselves and discover what really matters in life.
