In September this year, 5 new and expanded schools (3 new schools and 2 expanded schools) will be put into use in Daya Bay, adding a total of 1,800 public high school places, 2,550 public junior high school places, and 3,780 public primary school places.
The two expanded schools are Daya Bay No. 1 Middle School (High School) and Dongsheng Primary School. Daya Bay No. 1 Middle School (High School) is located at No. 18 Ximahu Road, Aotou Street, and will add 36 classes and 1,800 new high school places after expansion. Dongsheng Primary School, located in Dongsheng Fishing Village, Aotou Street, is an island school that has been expanded to 6 classes and provides 270 places.
The three newly built schools are Daya Bay No. 6 Middle School, Zizai City Nine-Year Consistent School, and Hopson Times City Primary School. Daya Bay No. 6 Middle School is located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Longhai 3rd Road and Longshan 3rd Road in the West District, and is a public ordinary junior high school, built according to the scale of 30 teaching classes and 1,500 degrees, and is the first public school in the district to build an art museum (STEAM center); Located in the Zizaicheng Community in the West District, the project plans 42 primary school teaching classes and 21 junior high school teaching classes, providing a total of 1,890 public primary school places and 1,050 public junior high school places. The Daya Bay Indoor Stadium - Basketball Hall (Hall B) and Natatorium (Hall C) project belong to the second phase of the Daya Bay Olympic Sports Park, which is located opposite the exit of the Daya Bay Coastal Expressway, and the construction has started on October 1, 2023. One of the first phase of the comprehensive hall (Hall A) has been completed and put into use on October 1, 2023. The comprehensive hall fills the gap that there are no large-scale public indoor sports venues in the district, and has now become a good place for mass sports and exercise in the jurisdiction and a popular venue for various sports events.
It is understood that the basketball hall and natatorium plan to build 1 basketball hall, 1 natatorium, a basement, and a total of 1,073 parking spaces (including 743 above ground and 330 underground). Among them, the basketball hall is built according to the design standards of the national standard Class B gymnasium, and there is one standard competition venue in the hall or three indoor basketball courts for activities at any time, which can accommodate 5,000 people to watch the event or use; The swimming pool is built according to the design standards of the national standard C-level gymnasium, and a standard swimming competition pool is set up in the hall, which can accommodate 500 people to watch the event or use it. Also making Daya Bay citizens look forward to is the Daya Bay Comprehensive Cultural and Creative Park, which is being stepped up under construction. The project is located on the east side of Aotou Huimin Plaza in the central area of Daya Bay, integrating a library, cultural center and commercial facilities, and will be built into a landmark building of Daya Bay City Meeting Room, a cultural highland in southern Huizhou and a high-quality public social venue. At present, the project is implementing pile foundation support engineering, and it is planned to complete the construction of two basements by the end of the year; It will be completed in May 2026.
