Case 1
Recently, the public security brigade found in its work that there were people gathering to gamble in a remote house in Dashi Village, Hemian Town, Naxi District. After careful deployment, on April 26, the public security brigade united with multiple departments to organize capable forces to collect the net of the rural mobile casino, arrested 28 criminal suspects on the spot, took criminal coercive measures against 2 people, imposed administrative penalties on 26 people, and seized more than 20 yuan of money involved in the case.
Case 2
On April 11, 2024, under the careful deployment of the public security detachment of the Municipal Bureau, the Public Security Brigade, together with the police dog squadron and the police station, successfully knocked down a rural mobile casino in Pingshang Village, Lijiang Town, Hejiang County, Luzhou City, and arrested 57 criminal suspects on the spot, took criminal coercive measures against 12 people, imposed administrative penalties on 45 people, and seized more than 30 yuan of money involved in the case.

The moment of popularization of law
Article 303 of the Criminal Law of the People's Republic of China provides:
[Gambling Crime] Whoever gathers a crowd to gamble or uses gambling as a business for profit is to be sentenced to up to three years imprisonment, short-term detention or controlled release, and a concurrent fine.
[Crime of Opening a Casino] Whoever opens a casino shall be sentenced to up to five years imprisonment, short-term detention or controlled release, and shall also be fined; where the circumstances are serious, a sentence of between 5 and 10 years imprisonment and a concurrent fine is to be given.
Article 70 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Public Security Administration Penalties stipulates that:
Where conditions are provided for gambling for the purpose of profit, or where the amount of money involved in gambling is relatively large, detention for up to 5 days or a fine of up to 500 RMB is to be given; where the circumstances are serious, they are to be detained for between 10 and 15 days and fined between 500 and 3,000 RMB.
