Recently, the Shandong Provincial Para Swimming Championship and the 2025 National Paralympic Games Trials kicked off in Binzhou. In response to the work arrangement of the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation, the School of Artificial Intelligence and Automation of Binzhou Vocational College of Science and Technology set up a volunteer team of 45 students to actively participate in the volunteer service work of the competition.
During the event, volunteers actively participated in their respective posts, and their figures were active in every corner of the field. From the preparation before the competition to the finishing work after the competition, the volunteers have always maintained a high degree of enthusiasm and attitude; They help build barrier-free facilities to ensure that athletes can participate in the competition safely and conveniently; They are the choreographers and check-ins in the competition to ensure the fairness of the competition; They also provide consulting services to spectators to enhance the viewing experience of the event.
In particular, the volunteers have made a meticulous effort to care for para-athletes. They are extremely patient in communicating with the athletes, understanding their needs and providing them with personalized service. During the competition, the volunteers cheered them on and spread positive energy, and their service was not only reflected in action, but also warmed the hearts of the athletes.
In addition, the volunteers also demonstrated their expertise in emergency response. They are professionally trained and familiar with emergency plans, ensuring that they can respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency. Their composure added a layer of security to the safety of the event. The outstanding performance of our volunteers was highly praised by the Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation and the organizing committee of the competition, and a letter of commendation was awarded.
Through this volunteer service activity, the volunteers not only contributed to the event, but also gained valuable experience and memories. In practice, they improve their communication skills, teamwork skills and service awareness, which are all valuable assets for them. Through this activity, students can better understand and respect para-athletes, and enhance their sense of social responsibility and citizenship.
