May 12, 2024 is the 16th Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day in mainland China, and the Huangyuan County Emergency Management Bureau closely focused on the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Striving to Improve Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Avoidance Capabilities", and organized all-round and multi-form popular science publicity activities on disaster prevention and mitigation knowledge in the Chihan Village Committee Square of Dahua Town, Huangyuan County, so as to deeply popularize earthquake prevention and disaster reduction knowledge and basic skills of prevention and response.
The event site set up earthquake prevention and disaster reduction publicity display boards, set up consultation desks, through the distribution of popular science brochures, prize knowledge quizzes, face-to-face explanations and other forms, in-depth publicity of earthquakes, fires, lightning and other natural disasters self-rescue and mutual rescue skills, disaster prevention and mitigation measures, family fire safety knowledge, medical assistance, high-rise building fire escape and self-rescue methods, etc., to improve the awareness rate of emergency knowledge of the masses and the participation of various disaster prevention.
A total of more than 600 brochures, more than 300 leaflets, more than 10 publicity boards were arranged, and more than 50 people were consulted by the public. It has further popularized the knowledge of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, enhanced the awareness and skills of preventing and responding to disaster risks, and improved the people's awareness of preventing various disasters and their ability to protect themselves.
