In recent years, the science popularization work of the Western (Chongqing) Science City has been continuously cultivating scientific soil and building a solid foundation for innovation. Recently, the reporter learned from the relevant departments of the Science City that after qualification review, on-site inspection, expert review, comprehensive evaluation and external publicity, 10 units including the "Advanced Pathology Science and Technology Museum" were named as the popular science base of Chongqing High-tech Zone.
In order to strengthen the quality of the construction of district-level science popularization positions and deeply integrate all kinds of science popularization resources in the area, the relevant departments of Science City will organize the application and review of science popularization bases in Chongqing High-tech Zone in 2023 in accordance with the "Measures for the Establishment and Management of Science Popularization Bases in Chongqing High-tech Zone".
The newly named 10 popular science bases, involving big data, artificial intelligence, aerospace, health, new energy vehicles, network security, modern agriculture, social sciences, etc., are all hot spots and areas of interest to the public.
Chongqing University's "Qibang" Youth Science Popularization Base is based on the Chongqing University Student Cross-Innovation Center for construction planning. In order to systematically promote a series of popular science activities of science and technology education, the popular science base has developed a series of popular science courses such as drone flight control, motion control exploration, Robomaster mecha master, laser processing, woodworking technology, 3D printing, etc., focusing on parent-child families, primary and secondary school students and other groups. According to statistics, in 2023, more than 30 popular science activities will be carried out, with an audience of more than 2,000 people, which will effectively promote the development of science popularization work in science and technology innovation in Science City and enhance the awareness of scientific and technological innovation among the masses.

Different from the "Qibang" Youth Science Popularization Base of Chongqing University, the Science Popularization Base of Jiufeng Mountain Ecotourism Zone is an important carrier for the public to carry out science popularization work in Jiufeng Village, Jinfeng Town, and is the first popular science base of tourist attractions in Science City. At the same time, the base gives full play to its own advantages in social organization, and cooperates extensively with a number of research institutions, schools and other units to carry out a series of popular science activities. Always take teenagers and villagers as the theme, focus on cultivating teenagers to develop good behavior habits, provide children with some different popular science knowledge, and broaden children's horizons. At the same time, it also publicizes scientific knowledge such as ecological protection, environmental improvement, safe production, and healthy life for the public, and carries out more than 10 popular science activities every year, with an audience of more than 1,000 people.

The popular science base is an effective platform for carrying out social, mass and regular popular science activities, which has a demonstrative, driving and radiating effect on popular science work, and is mainly engaged in the dissemination of natural science, social science and engineering and technical knowledge, the planning and organization of popular science activities, creation, training, research and development of exhibition and teaching materials. Up to now, Science City has built 2 national science education bases, 22 municipal science popularization bases, and 20 district-level science popularization bases.
