Mother's Day is a day to thank mothers. Modern Mother's Day originated in the United States and is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year. On this day, the children give their mothers beautiful gifts to express their love for their mothers.

Origin of the festival
Mother's Day originated in the United States, and the initiator of this holiday is Philadelphia Anna Jarvis. On May 9, 1906, Anna Jarvis's mother died in great grief. On the anniversary of his mother's death the following year, Jarvis organized a memorial service for his mother and encouraged others to express his gratitude to his mother in a similar way.
Jarvis wrote to the local church asking for a special memorial service for her mother. Her mother served the church for more than 20 years. In 1908, the church declared Mother's Day of Jarvis' Mother's Death, the second Sunday in May, Mother's Day. Jarvis also organized a Mother's Day committee and began a massive campaign calling for Mother's Day to be made a legal holiday.
Her appeal was met with an enthusiastic response. On May 10, 1913, the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives passed a resolution to designate Mother's Day on the second Sunday in May every year. By the time Jarvis died in 1948, Mother's Day had been celebrated in 43 countries.
In the 80s of the 20th century, Mother's Day was gradually accepted by the people in Chinese mainland. Beginning in 1988, some cities in southern China, such as Guangzhou, began to celebrate Mother's Day.
At the end of the 20th century, with the increasing integration of China and the world, the festival of Mother's Day was increasingly popularized throughout Chinese mainland, and more and more people began to accept the concept of Mother's Day.

Allusions and legends
When Mencius was very young, his father died, and Mengzi's mother relied on weaving linen to make a difficult living. Mencius was very intelligent, learned what he saw, and had a particularly strong ability to imitate. In order to provide a good environment for the children, Mengzi's mother moved three times, and later, Mencius really lived up to Meng's mother's expectations and became a thinker and a major representative of Confucianism during the Warring States period.
In 1126 AD, the Jin soldiers invaded the Central Plains on a large scale, and Yue Fei joined the army. Before leaving, Mrs. Yao called Yue Fei to her, tattooed the words "Jing Zhong Serve the Country" on his back, and painted vinegar ink. Since then, the words "loyal to the country" have never faded on Yue Fei's back. It has also become one of the most well-known folk historical stories. "Mother-in-law's tattoo" not only contains the mother's expectations for Yue Fei, but also has a broad family and country feelings.
Legend has it that once upon a time, the outskirts of Kumadake Castle were a beach. There is a poor family by the sea, only a mother and a son, who depend on each other for their lives. Later, his son took a sea boat to Beijing to catch the exam. Many years have passed, and there has been no news of his son. My mother was very anxious, so she went to the beach every day to look. One year, two years, three years...... The mother's hair was gray, but her son was nowhere to be seen. In fact, her son unfortunately capsized and fell into the sea on the way to Beijing to catch the exam. Heaven was moved by the great mother's love, and a high mountain was erected in the place where the mother stood and looked forward to her child.
