Round 9 Match Report

At the grid, Motara, who started from pole position, performed well and stayed in first place after the start; Porsche Racing's da Costa moved up to sixth place ahead of Di Grassi and then Günther. Nick Cassidy started from ninth on the grid, but found himself stuck in the back of the grid and dropped straight to 21st on lap 21. The race was highly competitive and the crashes triggered twice, and Cassidy saved enough power to expertly complete two sprints to overtake multiple cars after the safety car ended.

The decisive moment came on lap 43, when Cassidy made a crucial overtake to take the lead. Thanks to the excess energy he had accumulated, he was able to continue to open the gap and secure a two-second advantage, and eventually took the victory, pushing himself to the top of the Drivers' World Championship standings.

In this fierce race, Vergne of DS Penske and Roland of Nissan finished second and third respectively. Cassidy's team-mate Mitch Evans finished fourth, followed by Pascal Vellein at home and Porsche team-mate Da Costa.

Notably, young teenager Tyler Barnard made an impressive Formula E debut, finishing a historic 10th and becoming the youngest scorer in the series' history.

Post-match interview

- Cassidy: "It's a crazy game, and I hope you enjoy it." My team has been doing a fantastic job, I didn't have enough cars to win races, but we did it in the end. We have a great group of people in the team and it's an honour to work with these people at Jaguar Racing. "

- Vilgne: "It was a very tight race, I was very hungry for victory, but I didn't expect Cassidy's strategy to be so good, congratulations to Jaguar. I can't do any more, second place is already very happy and we'll try again tomorrow. "

- Roland: "Our strategy was to get the position early, but in the end it was a little bit off. It was too tight to miss anything, but I enjoyed it. "

Round 10 main match report

Within two or three laps of the start, a large number of drivers activated attack mode, with da Costa taking the lead at the start, and both Porsche cars were strategically positioned and teamed up in the first half of the race. Throughout the 38-lap race, da Costa managed to withstand the pressure from Jaguar Racing Team's Mitch Evans and his team-mate, Round 9 winner Nick Cassidy.

On lap 31, Evans was led by the safety car to take the lead, but he still had one attack pattern that he hadn't used. Da Costa, meanwhile, applied a delayed brake at the hairpin and managed to keep Evans at bay, forcing him to sprint through the corner in the turn.

Oliver Rolland, who started from 16th, then jumped behind da Costa, but he couldn't try to challenge for first place due to Cassidy's frantic pressure in third, allowing Da Costa to maintain a comfortable lead until the end of the race – his first victory since Cape Town 2023. Da Costa's victory in Berlin brings the number of single-stage winners to eight this season, while Season 10 now has 10 rounds.

Behind da Costa, Cassidy completed a last-minute overtake to Roland for second place and set the fastest lap in the process. Roland finished third in a very unfavourable starting position, ahead of Porsche's Pascal Vellein, and defending champion Andretti Racing's Jack Dennis battled it out for the rest of the race to finish fifth.

Cassidy's team-mate Evans finished sixth, while Maserati's Jehan Daruwala finished an impressive seventh, the Indian driver's personal best.

Nineteen-year-old McLaren driver Taylor Barnard showed his potential as he scored again on his first weekend in Formula E, starting from 18th and finishing eighth. Envision's Joel Eriksen also had his best result to date – ninth place, while DS Penske's Vilgne finished last of the top 10.

Nick Cassidy scored a respectable 45 points in Berlin and topped the table with 140 points, while Wehrrhine was second with 124 points and Roland was third with 118 points. Jaguar Racing leads the Constructors' Championship with 237 points, followed by Porsche with 183 points.

Post-match interview

- Da Costa: "I'm sure there will be no problem this time." At Porsche's home turf, everyone was watching us. It's a tough win to win, but we're on the rise, and it's a very special win. When things don't go right, we have to work harder. This championship is dedicated to my father-in-law, who has just passed away as an engineer. "

- Cassidy: "It's been a great week. I'm sorry for Evans, this time it didn't work, but that's how unpredictable FE is. We will continue this strong momentum and bring back more points for the team." "

- Roland: "Yesterday's strategy was a little different than today's, and today I wasn't perfect. The two teams in front were cooperating with the defense, and some collisions were inevitable. For me, it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it. "
