May 12 this year marks the 16th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day. In order to further enhance the awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation of the whole people and improve the ability of residents to help themselves and each other, on the morning of May 10, the Office of the Leading Group for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and Disaster Relief of the Shibei District Party Committee organized an earthquake emergency drill in the Yichang Road community of Hudao Street with the theme of "Everyone Stresses Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond to Emergencies - Strive to Improve the Ability of Grassroots Disaster Prevention and Avoidance", and officially launched the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Week. More than 500 people from the District Emergency Management Bureau, the District Fire and Rescue Brigade, the Hudao Sub-district Office, the Sunshine Rescue Team, the Baicheng Rescue Team, some enterprises and residents participated in the event. The responsible comrades of the Comprehensive Disaster Reduction Department of the Municipal Emergency Management Bureau were invited to participate in the observation.
The activity was carried out in the form of "emergency drill + centralized publicity + training experience", which not only effectively tested the level of coordinated operation and emergency support of the rescue team, but also improved the ability of residents to avoid danger in an emergency, save themselves and save each other. In the earthquake drill link, with the piercing siren sounded, the community residents spontaneously evacuated to the community square, and then started the response, on-site rescue, wounded treatment, material support and other links in an orderly manner, the participating teams responded quickly and closely cooperated, and the drill process was interlocking and orderly, effectively exercising the ability to coordinate and respond to all parties, and further improving the emergency command and disposal ability and level of the earthquake relief headquarters.
In the disaster prevention and mitigation centralized publicity, self-rescue and mutual rescue training links, emergency, fire, social rescue teams and other in-depth exchanges with community residents, residents have gathered in front of various publicity booths, and rescue personnel in-depth discussion and exchange of disaster prevention and reduction, home safety and how to escape and self-rescue in the face of disasters and other issues, actively participate in smoke escape, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, high-level slow descent escape, rope training and other training subjects, and actively learn escape self-rescue and first aid skills, improve the self-rescue and mutual rescue ability of residents.
At the training experience site, more than 300 children from the surrounding kindergartens, under the leadership of the teacher, flocked to the smoke escape channel and cardiopulmonary resuscitation site to experience smoke escape skills, get close to fire trucks and fire rescue equipment, interact with firefighters, experience fire protection equipment, and reluctantly wave goodbye to firefighters at the end of the activity. Through the transmission of "small hands holding big hands", the awareness, knowledge and skills of disaster prevention and mitigation have entered the homes of residents.
During the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Week, Shibei District will organize and carry out a variety of disaster prevention and mitigation publicity activities, including the distribution of popular science books, online publicity and promotion, online prize competitions, and accurate publicity on the street and households, so as to expand the influence of disaster prevention and mitigation and disaster relief, and strive to enhance residents' awareness of disaster prevention and reduction, and create a good atmosphere for the whole society to participate in disaster prevention and reduction.
